Drive both. I was so set on an 08-09 turbo and unfortunately drove a 2010 Gt3 and now have one in my garage. Having driven the Turbo on the track multiple times there is absolutely no comparison to a 2010 GT3 and pre PDK turbo in terms of raw feel, and the acceleration stock vs stock is very very close.

I came from a Z and now have a 09 C2S. I definitely miss the power and if I could do over again would have looked for a lightly pre-owned Turbo.

Also if you are looking to spend between 100-140k, I would go with a 2010 turbo with low miles. Latest Motor Trend clocked TT at 0-60 in 2.8 that would make you forget about the Z power real fast.

Having driven both there is no way I would take GT3 over a TT for every day use. And quite honestly I prefer the TT on the track because of the AWD and torque.

But as everyone says, the only way to know for yourself is to drive both.

I agree 100% The clutch on the GT-3 alone would rule that out for me in traffic.
Turbo's PDK is a breeze to operate and will blow the doors off pretty much anything on the road.

W/ the budget of 100-140 and your needs, 997.2 TT is a nobrainer.

I was between a turbo and gt3...

In stock form a gt3 is more eventful than a turbo

Unless u put a 3.9 conversion in a gt3 there is no more power to be had....in my opinion stock is more than most need. The only option needed is an exhaust bypass.....best sounding 997 hands down

The turbo has endless power upgrades available, different kind of power for a different type of buyer

I drive my gt3 every day, u get used to the clutch

I also switched from a Z06 earlier this spring and have 0 (ZERO) regrets. There is no way the turbo is boring, but I too had your (probably somewhat unfounded) concerns for feeling like I needed at least similar power. One of my Zs had the Lingenfelter 616 kit installed and I found it to be strong but rough. To me it almost ruined the car a bit and I think this is one of THE most important differences between the Z and a turbo. I stopped at Sharkwerks on my drive home and had the EVOMS tune put in and the with the tubi exhaust it makes around 580hp - but feels NO DIFFERENT from stock. No loss of the beautiful refined power that these cars put out from the factory what so ever. Just really impressive pulls when you want them.

Refinement in all aspects of the driving experience (even with light mods) is what you can expect from the Porsche in my opinion. And believe me, every bit as exciting or even more so than the Z. Best of luck with your search!
Hi Jim

I see your in Calgary... I am in Edmonton. Did you bring yours in from the states? They are considerably cheaper there. But do the dealerships honour warranty? or will they service them?

Adam - yeah the warranty is good up here. The dealers will service them as well (they need the money as much as anyone!). It's only been a few months for me, but from my experience once you get the RIV sticker they're pretty much treated (and feel like) a Canadian car more or less.

Some good info and some posts of my experience in this thread in the "Canada" section: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...bo-canada.html

In short - I'd highly recommend shopping south of the border not only for the cost savings but also for the overall selection.
