997 cab deploy rollover protection... how?

Hey guys

Events at Lime Rock Park require Rollover protection deployed and that it pass a broomstick test. I am not sure a 997 cab will pass, anyone know for sure?

Is it something the dealer must do (piwis) or can I pop it up? I imagine it pops up pretty quickly so it may be a hazard. If need be I can tilt my car 70 degrees to test

you'll be fine. I track mine quite often. Our pop-out bars pop up quite high. You will pass the broomstick test with no issues. Go out and enjoy the track. Our cars are born on it. You'll have a blast.

thanks Neil

They want them pre-popped. Is there a procedure? When I bought the car the dealer said they would do it free of charge for me, but they're 50 miles away.

Did you check the manual? It has a write up on how to retract the bar. I can't recall if it has instruction on how to pop it.

I may be wrong but they only deploy once the car senses it's about to turn over. Most tracks around the world know that the 997TT Cab is track-safe.

MK4lowIRA is infamous around these partsMK4lowIRA is infamous around these parts
It would probably be easiest and safest to have the dealer do it, so nothing else gets broken if trying to do it yourself
