Question cayman s or tt?

Hey folks,

I haven't been on the forum since I sold my 06 CS tip last year. I am thinking to get another one. I finally found a 06 cs stick fully loaded. Should I do it? I have a 05 997 C2 tip. I am selling it. I really really dislike tiptronic. I miss my CS's handling when I go on mountain roads here in Taiwan. I drove that stick cs the other day and man. I like it. It's not as fast as my carrera but the sensation is good. More feedback and more fun. :: There's a huge gap in my budget. I am also thinking to get a 07 997 stick fully loaded in yellow. Taiwanese drives 99% auto here. Only those who are really car enthusiast buys stick. I thought about the PDK but very pricey and the current car's color are not very suitable for me. I could order it but it's a lot of $$$$

TWD converted to USD:

06 cayman s stick 25kmiles $59k USD no warranty
07 997 tt stick 9.5kmiles $135k USD no warranty
10 C2S PDK brand new $187k USD 4 years warranty
10 C4S PDK brand new $200k USD 4 years warranty

I owned 996, CS, 997C2, all of them are black and tip. This CS I am thinking to buy is also black.:sleep: The reason why I wanna sell the 997 it's because the tip tranny has very slow response and there's no point to upgrade the 3.6 engine.

what do you guys think? I owned a CS for a year and I love the look and the handling but it only has 295hp and I am used to carrera 325hp now I have driven that tt and OMG!!! it's so brutal!!:: 480hp stock. If I get the TT I will have nothing else to upgrade in the furture unless, pdk trubo, 430, gallardo, etc. I also thought about the new PDK C2S, C4S but I don't think it's worth the buck. It's like 60hp more and super fast shifting and brand new with more gadgets and warranty Somehow I am quite sick of buying used cars. So I considerd the new PDKs
I mean it looks nice and everything but I am sick of the tip. Enough. If I buy the CS I will have a lot less finacial problem. I can even buy a dd. If I dd CS/TT I think I will get really paraonied. Traffic here is so messed up. I am afraid I will get sick with the CS very quickly since I already owned one and same color and slower than my C2. But I gotta say stick is totally different animal to me. So as the tt:: What do you guys think???

I can keep driving that 997.1 C2 tip and order a 997.2 PDK that I really want. 385hp vs 480hp I still take the tt anyday anytime. help me out guys!!

You are posting on a forum with many 997 TT owners, so you might predict the reponse. I have owned 4 997 TTs, some with TipS. I don't mind commuting in heavy traffic, even in my GT3RS, so I am probably the wrong person to ask.

I don't like the style of the Cayman, but I am an old fashioned 911 guy. IMHO, having driven the PDK, I prefer a manual 6 speed, but that won't be the general response. They are nothing like the paddle shifting formula cars or karts, which really are a big improvment.

The bottom line is your bottom line - what can you afford? If you do buy a 997 TT, you will spend more on maintenance, and if you are like me, will invest more in modding the car because that produces spectular results. Buy what you can afford.

sorry but your post is hard to follow and I saw your identical posting on the 997 forum.

I am surprised by even thread header - cayman vs TT??? I didn't think they were even comparable.

I say go with manual since you love driving manual and get a nice beater like a cayman pdk.

911TurboS2, Thanks for the advise! on spec, 997 tip turbo is faster than stick. correct? I test drove a c2s and I was like. This is boring. I wanna step on clutch and throw in gears. Even though I know I am not as fast than TIP. It's the feeling and involvement that matters. Because I will feel bad if I get smoked by tip 997 tt.

sbkim, I am very frustrated!
