Ceramic brake conversion to single-piece steel rotors

I have an 06 Cayman S with ceramic brakes that is used primary for track and Auto-X. I am planning a conversion to single-piece steel rotors this winter to save the ceramic rotors before they wear out (currently less than 1 mm wear after ~10 track days) with the 6-8 track days I am running every year. I can easily find 2-piece rotors, but want to save on rotor cost, weight is not an issue for me at this time.

I have identified the size of the ceramic rotors, but cannot find compatible one-piece steel slotted rotors. I would even go for cross-drilled if that was the only option. My Porsche dealer has been less than helpful with cross reference part numbers so I post here in hopes of some help from this forum.

Front: 350 x 34mm
Rear: 350 x 28mm
I found reference data that 987.1 Cayman uses same ceramics at 997 GT3 Cup cars.

I posted in the GT3/GT2 forum because I felt that there was much more expertise with ceramic brake conversions on this forum than on the Cayman forum.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Cup cars do not use ceramics. 997GT3 Cups use 380x34 and 350x28

Thanks for the info....this is exactly why I am posting here. I hope that some of you on this forum can help me with identifying a matching Porsche model with the right size rotors that would replace my ceramics. I can go with Giro disc at $2500 for a set, but would prefer either stock Porsche 1-piece drilled or aftermarket slotted.

You are worried about wear and tear on the street (during winter) on PCCBs and yet you are tracking on them?

Are you more worried about the Winter elements (rock salt) impacting the PCCBs?

Also, you know you can't measure wear on PCCBs by looking at thickness, right?

I am concerned about wear-out on the track doing 6-8 days/year. I know that wear out is not just due to thickness. I would have no worries for street only use. The car is stored for the winter.

Got it...looks like the same size PCCB as the 996GT3...I'd do some searching but I believe certain Cayenne's share the 350mm rotor size (from reading past threads)

Hi!
If same as 996 GT3 I have done the same with cayenne V8 rotors in front (slotted) and 997 Turbo in rear (drilled). Both aftermarket. Look on tire rack or others. Total was about $650 for all 4! And the $18,000 ceramics are safely boxed away in my basement!

Anyone here exchanged their 996 GT2 PCCB brake discs and pads, both front and rear, for steel discs and appropriate pads at all four corners ?
I'm storing my ceramic-composite discs and the original Pagid pads and looking for verifications and further info on what to install.

996 GT2 PCCB front discs are 350mm X 34mm
996 GT2 PCCB rear discs are 350mm X 28mm

996 GT2 PCCB front pads are 190mmTall X 102mmWide with 18mmPadThickness and 66mmPadSurface (outer to inner)
996 GT2 PCCB rear pads are 121mmTall X 86mmWide with 18.5mmPadThickness and 61mmPadSurface (outer to inner)

Rear discs : Are the 997.1 Turbo rear discs the ones to get for my 996 GT2 ? Will they install correctly without ANY modifications to my yellow 996 GT2 PCCB calipers and clear and remain fully functional to the emergency handbrake shoes back there ?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated while I continue to research the forums.
Thank you !
