I told you it is not loud at all, don't know how they done it.

All I can say is my Cargraphic Race puts a smile on my face.

The short answer to your questions: Take the car to the tunnels -- this is the best way to hear the Cargraphic in all its glories .

The long answer: I mentioned this aspect in my long winded review and "analysis" LOL of exhaust system's inner working and auditioning on rennteam click here. The 911 has so much sound proofing that the in-cabin sounds (you inside car) is very different from out of cabin (you on sidewalk with someone does a fly-by). This applies not just to Cargraphic, but all exhaust systems that I have listened to.

In-cabin, high frequency is filtered (has to do with the exhaust pointing rearward and the soundproofing of the turbo) so you hear only the mid and low frequency (the "mellowness" that you mentioned?). Out of cabin, the unfiltered sound is guaranteed to be a jet like, race car like mechanical scream that is simply a joy to listen to, for example after a long day at work or on weekends. For nearby cars that I pass, I've been told that it is deafening , almost frightening at WOT's full scream.
So... how do you hear the out of cabin sound? Short of getting someone else to drive the car, the best way to hear this is to drive it through tunnels. (This should apply to anyone with any other exhaust system, for those interested. Try it, you'll see what I mean.)

Lastly, gives it time. It does get louder and will develop a menacing low frequency purr, and in the end will have loudness and quality very very similar to the 2010 GT3, with more low frequency punch, at least up to 7200 rpm. To give an idea of just how loud this system is in the long run: In my car for example, it is just right about 70%-80% of time, too quiet about 10-15%, and too loud about 10-15%, YMMV of course. Any louder than Cargraphic Loud level then neighbors will complain, it would be too loud in case you use for daily commute, and it would be difficult to have conversations with anyone else in car, IMO.

I have done multiple mods to my car and to this day, surprisingly the Cargraphic Loud is way up there on top of the list, next to Bilstein. For me, the sound is perfect (and I am a very difficult audiophile ). Quality-wise there has been no problem whatsoever. And the tuner LOVES it.

There is more growl at idle and when I get on the 'go peddle', but I am surprised. The system is not a loud as is suspected. I drove an '09 Turbo coupe with the CG loud system. It seemed quite a bit louder than my system. I believe it did have headers, tho I'm not certain.

Here's a question to those with similar systems ..... did the unit become louder with more miles on it? Or was it loud from the beginning?

BTW, I'm not complaining, but I did expect MORE sound from the CG. Please lemme know your experiences with the CG loud, please. Thanx.

Thanx guys. Appreciate your experiences.

I fired up the car in the garage this morning and it sounded great ! Nice cold start up growl followed with a quick run to work. Top up and I could hear the car fine. Yes, it could be louder, but I'd rather it not be obnoxious. So, I can live with it being a bit more mellow.

Yes, I agree that inside the car is not the best place to hear the exhaust note. I have several motorcycles with aftermarket exhausts and have to have a buddy ride in front of me on my bike to hear the way it sounds. Can't be done riding the bike. Same/same with a car.

One thing is for sure .... the car is definitely quicker. And, I tend to peddle down more. I noticed the fuel gauge is tending down quicker than usual as well.

Bryan at RSS thinks the car will get somewhat louder with some miles, too. We'll see. I could use a bit more.

OK .... I have some comments on the Cargraphic Loud exhaust I had installed yesterday.

I have previously posted that I tho't the CG loud was not loud enough. Well, I mis-spoke (there seems to be a lot of that going 'round this country ... but, that's another tale). Today on the way home from work, I was able to drop the top on the Turbo and drive it hard.

Well .... I was mistaken in my first comments. Yes, when you just drive the car "normally" ... shifting as one would do in town and drive according to the posted limits ... the car is pretty mellow in sound quality. Yes, it's more noticeable and deeper than OEM, but certainly not obnoxious.

Then ..... put your foot in it and punch the car ! Now, there's some noise for ya ! The turbos spool up ... the boost rises .... the sound becomes HUGE ! After 9 on the boost gauge the sound is quite loud. As is the acceleration ... the car is moving !

I like this set up a great deal. It's docile at normal driving with no droning ... yet, comes alive at boost to scream. Excellent !

Thumbs up to CG and the folks at RSS.

Ok, that's more like it. Nevertheless, if there is any tunnel/long freeway underpass close to where you are, pls give it a try. Or let the installer does a fly-by for you; chances are, they did it already LOL. I promise it will be an eye, er, ear-opening experience.
(Anyone in Los Angeles, with any exhaust system: great tunnels at Long Beach Airport, map here. This is where I go if I have a long day at work . Warning, it gets extremely loud in there, especially during accelerations.)

The sound change over time is hard to quantify, as it occurs so gradually and audio-memory is especially fleeting. That said, I do believe that it's going to get deeper and louder. For example there is a beautiful purr when I "jab" pedal to 1400 in neutral that resonates in my chest like a gentle massage LOL and makes me rev my engine ALL the times at stop signs, like a juvenile delin. , that was not there when system was new.

BTW, in case you don't already know, I believe the louder sound at start up happens to every system and is related to the system trying to warm up catalytic converter faster, as the cat. converter doesn't work until warm. Good luck and have fun.
