Had a blast this weekend. Went to Monticello Motorsports in ny this weekend with a group of car nuts. This was my first track outing and I had an absolutely fantastic time.
It is alot harder than it looks and from my experience and that of my instructor Monticello is a very technical track with its 22 turns
It was a great chance to get a better feel for what my car can do both in cornering and speeds as Monticello is a 4.1 mile track with a 3 very nice straights.
I also got a chance to get on track as a passenger with a good friend who has tons of track experience in his 996 gt2 ruf 590 track beast. This guy drove that car 10/10 and boy was it a joy to witness. What these cars can do with the right driver behind the wheel is amazing
As a whole I think I found my new calling in life
here is one simple pic for now and I will try to update when I get some more available.
here is a link to what the track looks like, really great conditions too

Great, Monte is a nice, 'safe' track. When you get some more time under your belt you gotta try out the glen or pocono, you can really fly on these tracks.

Nice! I'm envious, but I'm glad you found your new calling.
Wish we had a track out here in Kuwait.
What really gets to me is that it's not as if Kuwait can't afford to build one.
By not having a track, Kuwait has managed to encourage a very active, and dare I say unsafe, underground street racing scene.
Pity.

Glad you're having so much fun! Was the track event you went to also including two old F-1 cars (that people could learn to drive for something like $6,000?) Some track in NY is getting this experience, either this past weekend or upcoming. I've seen photos of the cars and their Cosworth engines, in a hanger in NC (along with a YAK trainer aircraft the lead mechanic flies). Apparently, the F1 cars were assembled without manuals of any kind and hadn't run in maybe 20 years.
Your adventure in your car and your friend's GT2 sounded sweet!
