APR Tune

I did the APR tune a few weeks ago. I know there has been a ton of debate whether this is a good tune, etc etc

Here are my impressions. When the car is set at 93 it runs very strong, boost comes on very linear from 2500 and pulls till you let off. I had a 996tt that had the following, Vivid 24/18gs w/wgs, SpeedTech Exhaust, Vivid Airbox, Softronic Tune, BOV & RWD conversion. The car is everybit as quick IMO. Over the weekend I ran VP109 and went to the 100 setting, cars pulls like a freight train. The car spins thru 2nd and chirps at 3rd. When set at 100 this car is without question quicker than what my 996tt was, no question and that car was pretty quick for what it was. For a tune only the APR is pretty amazing

All I can tell you is this, it is as advertised. I drove a ProtoTech car about a month ago while I was in Florida that had the ProtoMotive Tune, no offense and I am not bashing anyones tune but this APR tune is better IMO than what I drove in Florida. The car runs as stock, absolutely no issues/glitches.

Highly recommended

Sounds like a strong tune. Are you still on stock clutch? What are your other mods? Any plans for 60-130 run?

Christian,

Glad your impressed with the software. The APR guys will be glad to know they have another happy client. With that said looks like you had no issues with changing programs either. If you think its fast now, wait till you add an exhaust

Try Remus,I have a tip as well and there is no drone at all...Frankly there are times I would like Remus to be a little more noisy...But do not expect to see a great difference in power...APR flash is extraordinary and makes exhaust difference smaller...

I love love LOVE my tubi for what that is worth. Best exhaust I have had on any vehicle period. Would be the first thing I did if I ever had another one.

I would suggest in the same sentence christian the B&B and Milltek

I will try to find some you tube video clips for you but nothing beats in car experience. The B&B reads about the same decibles as the stock one does. Its slightly louder outside under WOT but inside doesn't change much. I've also never ran into a Milltek system that droned on any car.

You know, it's post like these that make me wonder if I should buy myself a 997 TIP and install some simple mods.

I think I'm getting old...

Huh? What's this I hear?
The guy that took a widow maker to an entirely new level of butchery and then tamed her is talking about getting into a tip?

Somehow, I think not!

i have an APR tune also... just did the same,,,put 100 octane in, switched program and..............hold on to the steering wheel!!!. i cant believe this car is as fast as it is.... i do have awe headers and apr exhaust as well as a stage 3 clutch.... i just cant beleive there is such a difference in performance between the program settings. last wkend i was tossing around trying the evoms tune.... i think im gonna stick with APR!! quick question.... does your turbo boost to 18psi when in sport mode or stay at 15... just wondering cause mine stays at 15...

tclayj is infamous around these parts
APR boost

mine stays at 15. This has been highly debated in the past that these numbers/ trap times cannot be seen because APR does not over boost in sport mode. I see a throttle response change in sport.

They should all stay at 15 regardless of sport being on or off.

Exactly. There is conflicting information about APR's boost. There is no doubt that the dash pegs at 15 but what is the actual boost the APR tune is running? This is a good opportunity to settle this open question. It's not that tough to measure it and being on a dyno, I would assume this would be done. My dash also pegs at 15 but my boost is far from that.
