New Turbo S

My father just received his new 997 Turbo S. So many options to choose from but I think it came out perfect. Although I am a little biased.

Nice!

Are those the center lock standard wheels in black?

I don't crave yellow all that much, except in a RUF. Those are the infamous centerlocking wheels in black. Great Car.

2000 mile break in. Be nice. Shift up in the 5000's. Don't hit the rev-limiter. Don't do launch-control starts. Porsche is watching the data when you go for service. I have a "Gialo Modena" Ferrari 550 (don't say Fly Yellow) and wasn't crazy about a yellow 997 I saw at Laguna Seca last August. But your Dad's car is cool over-the-top with the yellow belts and black wheels, etc. But remember to be nice during break in. Porsche is watching (after what happened to Nissan when American GT-R owners slammed the company with warranty work after abusing the cars during break-in.
http://jalopnik.com/5565919/this-is-...ement/gallery/ Blame the Japanese? No, blame idiot Americans who think they're entitled to smash a car to bits and take it back as "broken" under warranty. Oh sure, there's the "defective" American legal system and all that "litigious" stuff- but I'd rather be smart and living in America- than an idiot abusing common sense: The torque curve in the Porsche Turbo is low and there is no reason to hit the rev-limiter (besides incompetency) on UPSHIFT! Hit in on downshift and you should be driving a Camaro and suing GM for making a bad car! I love my GMC Acadia! )

Thanks for the comments. Yes, Speed Yellow was not the first color choice as we wanted the Ice Blue, but we were informed of the delay in production so we looked around at the other color choices and we felt that the Speed Yellow really highlighted the sportiness of the car and the selection of the various interior options and black option wheels really set it off.

I'm just looking forward to having the opportunity to drive it in a couple of months when I visit (after the breakin period :-)) I'm sure it will make my E63 feel very conservative.

Unexpectedly yellow looks very nice with turbo, indeed it goes well with black wheel. Can you post bigger size pictures?

That's funny I just saw your dad's car in the flesh at Porsche of Hawaii. I didn't notice the trim over the front air dam when I saw it in the showroom though. Everyone was drooling over it!!!

That showroom had a cabriolet turbo S, a GT3 RS and the first boxter spyder that I've seen. It was like a candy store.

A Porsche Turbo looks great in Yellow! The black interior and wheels really set it off, the yellow pin stripping looks awesome. Congratulations!
