Manual. And if the dealer starts getting a bunch of calls on the car, which isn't listed in his inventory, I am sure the price will go up for me or anyone else if I don't get it. So let's not all start calling around.
Wanted to chime in…there has been some great points thrown in already so I’ll add with my thoughts too…I think it may be useful to set a budget first and then narrow down your selection. Things you should factor in are maintenance costs - including tires, warranty costs (if you get the turbo), insurance, and more. I would choose the turbo, but only if you think it fits your budget. These are not cheap cars to buy at any level, especially the turbo. There’s a reason this turbo is @ $65k and you should take your time to find out why. Even if the car checks out perfect and has had all maintenance performed as outlined in the manual, you should still purchase a warranty. My factory warranty expired in June and I purchased an extended 4yr/75k for $4k. I only have 14k miles on my ride and would not keep my car without having some coverage for the unknown. Now, if this car is perfect you’re now at $69k. If it needs maintenance to meet current Porsche standards to qualify for the warranty you’re looking at $250-$1k. How much life left on the tires? Michelin ps2’s run approx $1800 for the set. How much is the annual insurance premium? Please don’t think I’m trying to discourage you from the turbo because I’m not. I have one and love it. I just want to be real and make sure I provide my own perspective on the cost of ownership. Sorry for the long story but I believe it boils down to what you want to spend. If the cost differentials aren’t too important I would look for a lower mileage turbo with a warranty included. You’ll spend more up front but you will have the lower mileage vehicle you want with the protection you need. Porsche has stringent standards for CPO. Ask if this turbo qualifies. Good luck and enjoy!
you should be entitled to this car first anyway. I would go drive it, extensively and if you like it get a PPI from a reputable shop. I would feel even better about this car if it came from a porsche dealer.
I had my friend pull the manheim auction numbers and you are doing really well at that price, if the car is in good condition.
Let us know how you like it.

More good points. For those that are interested, I was quoted $875 more per year for the turbo vs the 997s for insurance. I guess a safe estimation is that driving the turbo will cost about $100 more per month with extra tire costs, registration, maintenance, etc.
