Opinions on 08 997 TT price

Guys:
my best friend and i both have 08 turbos, differently optioned...

basics on his car:
basalt/black
6sp
manual seats
sport chrono
multi wheel
heated seats
clear bra
stickered in 130s

has about 13k miles on it, overall very good condition

the selling dealer offered him $75,000 for it as an outright buy...seems low to me

opinions?

Not sure what you expected? Coupe I'm assuming? Sport seats? Realistic about condition? If yes then no then yes, prolly not far off from wholesale. Selling it outright not an option?

yup it is a coupe, condition after a detail would be very good...he just isnt the type to drag something out which is why a private sale is unikely...he would rather dump it to a dealer with no hassle

from my research the price seemed quite low

Agree, seems low to me too but, the dealer prolly knows the guy doesn't want to retail it himself hence the offer? There's a cost for everything......

My searches have not produced any 2008-2010 911 TT's for anywhere in the $70k's. All were high $80ks - $100k.

A good detail shop will charge $150-$250 to make it look brand new. I would have it detailed professionally and sell it outright for $85k. Should be a quick sale based on the current market.

dealers are not known for their generosity and it sounds about right for a trade in, maybe 5k wiggle room on the purchase or trade.

Agree, to dealers their cars are mint and your car is a junker.

Makes sense to me, either take the risk and hassle or pay the dealer $5K to $10K (the delta). The thought of dealing with the tire kickers, pipe smokers and outright thieves would deter me from dealing with it.

I think retail on that car would be about $85k so $75k is not an absurd offer for it wholesale. I think he would get $5k more selling it himself though...

Good point, I once had a guy who kept bringing the car back to my house at the time for "warranty issues", can be a hassle. However, the car in question is prolly worth 90k, might be worth the risk. Consignment is another option.
