You may also have a faulty pressure plate (warped)...depends on how hard a time the clutch has been given. Im told a few hard high rpm slips can overheat the p/plate and it will not recover.

This is true. I had several problems with my clutch and had everything from the slave to the accumulator replaced. The hydraulic fluid was replaced. One day I found a puddle of fluid on the driver side front of the car (right under the holding tank). They must of overfilled the tank. My clutch got really spongy at the top and it caught way to high at 20K. Porsche ended replacing the entire clutch assembly/flywheel under warranty and the problem is resolved. They told me I had 80% of the original clutch still left so it wasn't driving on my part. Apparantly there might of been something wrong with the spyder gears but the mechanic told me it was difficult to diagnose because the clutch assembly is all one peice and needed to be taken apart. I think the clutch engages a bit high on these cars but thats just my preference. Good luck.

Bump - how did you resolve your issue? I have been also noticing slight difficulty engaging into 2nd gear. It doesn't happen all the time and it's worst when the car is cold. Other gears are nice and smooth. Just going into 2nd gear from 1st.

I tried pushing in the clutch completely and stil the same. One thing I noticed is that when I am shifting into 2nd before 3k RPM, it seems smooth enough. After 3K RPM, the shifts are very notchy. May be bad synchro?

Mine does the exact same thing. I have got into the habit of shifting quick into second and it is much smoother. Second is geared low enough, so it is not much of an issue. I read where others on this forum have noticed it too, and seemed to think it was normal. I still don't like it, but can live with it.
