Lowering my car?

All - like many of you, got an e mail from Porsche on the new Speedster - which I like a lot. The cost is stupid and ultimately I think what I liked most about the look was how it was set up with suspension and wheels in that it was lowerred 10mm - and had the Sport Classic wheel.

I presently have the wheels on my Turbo cab adn thinking about lowering it 10 mm. Wondering if the guys could pipe in on the amount they lowerred their car(s), its' look (picture please) and any tech spring kit one could recommend. My dealer says (this morning) there is nothing available from Porsche for my car.

Thanks.

True there are no ROW options for the Turbo suspension, your best bet is a set of good springs. I would suggest Techart, GMG, H&R/Champions in no particular order.

My understanding is most of the AM springs will drop you more than 10mm tho....more like 20-25. Can cause some scraping issues and the ride changes i hear.....some say in a good way, others say in a bad way....depending on whos telling their story. From my own previous readings on this topic of lowering springs the gmgs seem to have the more consistent positive (user review) outcome.
Either way, vanity does have its price to pay unfortunately.

^ As above, the TA and GMG will drop it 20mm, the others a bit more.

Has anyone compared H&R to Eibachs?

Gmg springs for street and the odd track day, 20mm drop, kw v3 if your doing 4+ track events a year and don't mind losing pasm switch.

Bilsteins Damptronics will allow you to lower the car whatever amount you want. And because they retain PASM you get a better street ride (much, much better than OEM) and much better track performance.

However, they will cost more than just springs.

I've had Cargraphic springs in mine. They were made by H&R and it was way too low. It went beyond 20mm.

I have done a bit of research on the topic myself. My conclusion... there is no bad choice amongst springs. TA, Eibach, H&R, Champion & GMG all receive the same POSITIVE feedback. The biggest debate you will find is Springs vs. Coils. I am going springs myself, coils seem to be overkill unless you plan to track.

I can't vouch for the 997, but on most cars Eibach is more comfortable than H&R.
