I live in West LA about 10 minutes from autotalent. Anyway, i went there about a month ago to have my rear brake rotors changed for service(much better price than dealer). Everyone was very professional and all phone calls were picked up.
Over the weeks i conjured up the thought of fully modding my car and ordering all the pieces for techart gt street rep from nr auto in addition to some suspension pieces and wheels.
I let autotalent know of this, and how i want to install this with them... and they seemed ready to accommodate.
I call them a couple days later, about 2 fridays ago saying i am about to receive my shortshifter and i would like to install that as well as discuss final pricing for the install of everything else in person.
I get the short shifter on monday, and call in tuesday.
I get told from a familiar voice i will be called back in 5 minutes.
3 hours later = no reply.
I try calling but noone answers.
5 hours later i call and the familiar voice picks up saying they cant do today sorry, bring it in tomorrow.
Regardless i understand they can get busy.
Next day i call at least 7 separate times with no answer.
So thursday i call and get told i will get called back in 5 minutes by the same person.
Ever since him telling me he will call me back in 5 minutes, i have called them at least 30 separate times. I have left a voice message expressing the situation and how they have yet to call me back or pickup my calls. Days have passed with no respond to that either.
it seems they are clearly avoiding a customer, just when i was about to spend alot of money with them. This makes no sense.
What happened to autotalent? Such a great looking body shop ended up being beyond a disappointment.
There is no way i will ever be able to refer anyone here anymore. I would truley rather not get the short shifter installed.

Get a hold of mike at rss, sponsor on right, he will take better care of you.
In the many years I've been modding cars there are a few that just stand out for customer service and that's RSS, BBI and Vishnu in norcal. I've got a list 5x bigger of those Ive used and won't recommend.

Maybe they do not want to deal with replica parts, fit and finish is always **** and then they have to put in extra time and material only to get complaints from the end user?
There is no excuse for not returning calls or being up front, however SEMA is this week and everyone is attending this year.

Being involved with SEMA is time consuming for these guys...but still no excuse for not calling back. If you're only 10 minutes away you could always drive over and talk to them - face-to-face much better than telephone.
I would have went somewhere else after the 25th call. You're a good guy to take it all the way to 30!
Seriously though, do yourself a favor and use one of the other shops mentioned above. Things can only get worse at this point if you pursue the same shop.

Even if they didnt seem fine with it, still not an excuse to ignore a customer until he gives up, they shouldnt have shown interest in installing it originally.
However that would have definately been a valid point if they didnt tell me they were completely fine with installing it.
to be honest they just seemed like nice guys that were quite proffesional, i just was waiting for an apology or some explanation. After the voicemail tho, i dont even care about going back or hearing an apology.
Why would it be closed? Moved to a different secton i could understand. I am an avid posted that has proven i possess the things i claim i do. Why would i fraudulently portray a bodyshop unless it was a scenario that i was warning fellow board members?
I don't like to pass judgment but there is one things I would like to say and one question I have. The question is did you call from the same number? I really hate business that screen calls like that. With that out of the way and as being a former owner of a shop, no shop likes putting on parts that you buy. Would you go to the plaza for dinner and bring your own food? I don't think they would entertain that. Anyway why would you not buy and install from the same place that way you have more purchasing power.
