It is time for the mortals to pay... Release the Kraken!!

Thanks to Dan at Vivid Racing my 997.1 has some new HRE shoes.

They came just in time for me to slap em on and head north this past weekend to unleash the Kraken in my hometown of Pittsburgh.

Dan hooked me up with the wheels, tires and the ECU flash that allowed me to smoke check those mortals .......

congrats, it looks good but now you need some suspension work.

what he means is that your car is looking like its sitting too high and therefore needs a drop. However, he doesnt realize that not everyone lives in cali where the roads are near perfect..... Testjet come to NYC with your setup

Speed bumps and pit holes are a concern where I live. Coming from a 750 Li it feels like I am getting up from the ground when I get out of the car . How do you guys ride these cars so low and not scrape up your chin?

Well, this may be a long story but here ya go.

I purchased the car on September 11th hence 9/11...911 in Florida where emissions is not required. Since I had never driven an 997 I was not aware that the car had an exhaust and flash already on it. Thus this was my baseline when I drove it off the lot and it pulled like a raped ape .

When I got the car back to VA I could not pass emissions with the ECU flash so I had to have the dealer flash me back to stock because I did not know what the previous owner had done.

This is when I hooked up with Dan and got the duramatic cable with the softronic flash. Now I am back to immortal status on the streets .

I definitely recommend the softronic ECU flash if you live in an area that requires emissions testing. I learned a valuable lesson in buying a sports car in a non-emissions testing state while living in an emission testing state.

Here is John's car. Same wheels...





I am not sure which coilovers, probably Bilstein PSS10. They work with the factory PASM button. KW V3 is what I run on my 997TT. Better ride with the adjustable rebound and compression. One thing many dont know about the KW V3 is that the bump stop acts like a 3rd spring based upon the patented material they use. This is why KW has soft springs. The car drivers smooth on the roads, but when you push it hard, that bump stop makes it handle more aggressive.
