2010 Season comes to an end
Sleep tight R911! Awesome car.
I was just about to post a similar thread. My black 911 goes into hibernation on Friday when we go to Florida. My buddy with a similar car drives his all year round and while it has nice 4wd I can't imagine WHY you would potentially ruin an amazing car by driving it in winter. Salt and other drivers can be hazardous. It's not like it would be enjoyable to drive in the winter. That's just my opinion and I know there are plenty to the contrary.
I'm planning on switching the programming back to stock in case there are startup hiccups in the spring. So today was the last day with the Proto tune (also have an AWE exhaust). On the way home today I "surprised" a modded (looked and sounded like it) Viper GTS. From about 80-150 I pulled him by a couple of car lengths. I'm sure he was quite surprised. Good old 911, sleep tight this winter.
Les, thanks for posting your tire pressures for winter storage, saves me looking it up. Got the trickle charger and factory car cover all ready too.

I hear you. I am sure I will take her out once or twice more weather permitting.
I never understood why the 911TT is put up for the winter. It should be prepared for winter use with the right tires.

Just kidding.
I didn't have a problem driving my turbo in winter...it's SUV next to me that worried me...all it takes is an idiot in a 5000 lb SUV who thinks he can still stop on a dime to turn your $100K+ sports car into a scrap metal.

LOL...this coming from a guy who lives in Leander, Texas where annual snowfall is < 3 inches...
Just kidding.

Just looking at making some room for a REALLY nice daily/toy car. Truly, I did not want to post this on the boards because I dont have to sell her.[/quote]
Good because the 6speed community still needs to know what she is capable of on race fuel!

Driving it in the snow and driving it in the winter are two different things. My point earlier in this thread was the fact that guys who put the cars away for the winter obviously have another car.
For most of the US there are enough nice days in the winter to enjoy the car. Everyone talk about salt on the roads. I thought in most places they just use sand?
