2010 Season comes to an end
2010 Season comes to an end
So its been a great season with my P cars! Reflecting on the year, I acquired a 2010 White on Red PDK Turbo Aero Kit and drove that beast for 2000 miles before wanting more power. Bought my 2007 Turbo Blk on Blk and got the Switzer R911 kit with race and pump setting. Won a bunch of races, car ran a 5.75 60-130mph on the pump setting, ran a 141+ trap, and got her detailed before the winter sleep. Looking forward to 2011...or maybe one more cruise if the weather permits here in Ohio. To conclude the season, I had to post the latest preparations. She has fuel stabilizer, sits on 2 layers of carpet with the tires at 40 PSI, fresh wax and detail, under the factory cover, and has the trickle plugged in. Until next year and some race gas numbers...
It saddens me to see 'hibernation' threads. While I pay the price of unremitting heat in the summer, at least I can drive all year round. 80's in November FTW!
Look forward to seeing some race gas numbers next year!

Sweet slumbers to her Les! Certainly been an interesting season for you...
I am eagerly looking forward to what she will do next season with race gas and what other things you have in store for her/us
!
In our part of the world, P cars come alive in winter time due to the cooler temps.
We'll do our best to keep you guys entertained over the winter months

Glad you had a good season, and some very impressive cars.
I guess I spent too many years in Germany - I drive my Porsches all year long, especially the AWD TT in the snow - it's provides great traction if you drive it in the correct manner. I even drive them in Vermont in the depth of winter.

If you're putting it away it's obviously not your daily driver. If that's the case, there are plenty of days with lots of sun and blue sky's to still drive the car. Think how much it will love the cool air

Sleep tight R911! Awesome car.
I was just about to post a similar thread. My black 911 goes into hibernation on Friday when we go to Florida. My buddy with a similar car drives his all year round and while it has nice 4wd I can't imagine WHY you would potentially ruin an amazing car by driving it in winter. Salt and other drivers can be hazardous. It's not like it would be enjoyable to drive in the winter. That's just my opinion and I know there are plenty to the contrary.
I'm planning on switching the programming back to stock in case there are startup hiccups in the spring. So today was the last day with the Proto tune (also have an AWE exhaust). On the way home today I "surprised" a modded (looked and sounded like it) Viper GTS. From about 80-150 I pulled him by a couple of car lengths. I'm sure he was quite surprised. Good old 911, sleep tight this winter.
Les, thanks for posting your tire pressures for winter storage, saves me looking it up. Got the trickle charger and factory car cover all ready too.
