Any exhaust valve solutions for 2020+ vantage to keep them open?
Any exhaust valve solutions for 2020+ vantage to keep them open?
It drives me nuts when auto makers don’t allow full, independent exhaust valve control!
I have secondary cat deletes on my 2020 Vantage and the sound/crackles is great in Track mode. Problem is I’m not always interested in paddle shifting (ie coffee) and track mode holds gears too long in general for driving with any traffic.
Sport+ mode shifts gears better for road use, but only partially opens the valves and is not as aggressive sounding as Track drive mode. I know these are electronic valves that are constantly changing and not just open/shut. From what I see you generally get the same result with a quicksilver muffler, and don’t know of an aftermarket muffler that will allow full open valves all the time?
Is there any product that lets me control the valves independently of drive mode? I’ve used a $400 switchpath remote to do this on my Shelby GT350R, which works great until I melted it from track use! The Shelby has a basic open/shut valve setup and has independent control toggle, however two idiotic issues remained (1) 6th gear is always valves closed (until 90mph for some reason) in any setting stock without switch path and (2) even if shut valves they will open during aggressive throttle which makes track use at sound monitored tracks problematic.
Anyway, since Aston hasn’t given us independent valve control, are there any products or solutions to keeping valves fully open in Sport+?

The tricky bit is that the position of the valves is monitored by the ECU for use in ignition timing/fueling etc. The cars are tuned using the variable back pressure the valve position provides. If you defeat the valves or they fail/stick you end up with a CEL and reduced performance state. I imagine that any control of the valves would have to coincide with an aftermarket tune to avoid this.

Here you go I think (no affiliation) - Exhaust Valve
I’m a member of that group on FB and I don’t recall any negatives even from the knowledgeable!

im getting a lift in late summer or early fall, probably will wait for that to do this but might do it on jack stands

Bumping this if there is any feedback on the JXB valve box? It looks like to use with factory muffler you the jam the valves open and the box avoids limp mode, but I suspect it’s intended to work with aftermarket mufflers.
I’d still like some more volume on cruising RPM. It’s pretty solid on high rpm and in track mode, but would like to hear it better on sport+ and cruising.
