I still love the Ice Blue gonna be PO when I finally see one if it's better than my PTS color. That was in Oct so they may have pulled color again. Not on website. Been working on this order for a year hoping I am in the last days of the wait.

I am in No Cal (Silicon Valley) if it makes a difference.
I am in the market for a turbo S and the dealers I have contacted have offered 4-5K over invoice for new builds for their allocation slots. This is with minimal negotiation. You may have to contact several and be willing to ship if over >500 miles but it is worth it if the local dealers won't work with you.

Thanks for the info. I have put in an order from a So Cal dealer who was able to give me about 1/2 of what you were offered for a Turbo (not S). I am planning to fly down there to pick up the car as a one day trip. I also found that Turbo S seems to be "easier" to negotiate for whatever reason. Even my current dealer was trying to convince me to go the route of a TT-S. But we have decided that even with the extra dollar off, the TT-S is still a little higher and we just have to draw a line somewhere.

Hi. I don't think 6speed has policy against posting price and discount you're getting so it's ok to post it if you're comfortable. Just to help anyone else who is looking. Plus I am curious.

What exactly are you getting off the windows sticker, when you wrote "4k over invoice"? IIgnoc too: If you don't mind, exactly how much off windows sticker are you getting?

When talking prices and discount for Porsche, how much off the windows sticker is probably a lot more helpful and consistent than how much over the invoice. Porsche dealers don't always show invoice, but the windows sticker -- there is no "hiding" or "funny business" there.

If you get a very basic Turbo S at MRSP of around 160k, you still have about at least $5-6k off at the current market and economy. At the end you will have a car with more gadgets and 0-60mph in 2.6 sec stock...with just a few thousand dollars over the $150k budget.

+1. Same reason I got the S.

Just an update.

My bad habit had striked again and the upgrade bug had hitted. My wife was tired of my constant "nagging" and volunteered to call the dealer to see if my TT order can be changed to a Turbo-S. Guess what? My salesperson was so accomodating that he switched my order to a planned March build TT-S without any issue, so here is my new order:
BASE 911 Turbo S

Z4 Basalt Black Metallic
BT Black/Titanium Blue Interior
635 ParkAssist System
X70 Door Entry Guards SS
XUB Headlight Cleaner Ext Color
710 Two Tone Combination Turbo S

Thanks a lot for your input but please hold any further suggestion just to save my wife and my salesperson's sanity. This is a March build delayed to early April with a target delivery for May.

Clear bra: I hope no one will start a flame war over this! Especially since you're thinking about it, my prediction is yes you will want the clear bra. I have had 2 997's, one with, one without. Yes it works as advertised, yes it prevents small rock chips (large ones you're out of luck), so yes you want it. One very good option to consider: arrange for the detailer to come to the dealer and install it before driving home. My car has front third of front hood and fender plus the outside mirror and to me that's enough; the hood line doesn't bother me at all (if it does, do the whole hood).
You're close to one of the best clear bra installers in Calif., Premier something (I don't have name or address).
+1

Getting my new S Clear Bra's tomorrow (doing a 'bikini' cut on the hood - 1/2 hood), Then when it arrives in town, then off for a Passport 9500CI to be installed.

Can you post some pix after your clear bra installation? I am still thinking if I should do the full front or partial. I definitely do not want any visible line. TIA.
