Turbo S Road & Track mag 0-60 2.6 sec Excellence mag 0-60 3.1 sec ???

I just got my new copy of Excellence mag & the cover is a Turbo S with headline 0-60 in 3.3 sec which surprised me as i keep seeing this Road & track # thrown around of 0-60 in 2.6 sec, which is a huge difference even though both # are incredibly fast.Excellence didn't do there own testing but used Porsches own official data ,with PDK as the only choice for the Turbo S i'm wondering how they got such better # ,wouldn't Porsche want the best 0-60 times out there or do they always underrate there #http://www.roadandtrack.com/var/ezfl...059e7c3413.pdf

I believe taht the 2.6 second number is accomplished using launch control. I have driven and ordered the Turbo S and driven the Turbo. These cars are fast and handle well. I chose the S for all the other reason not the extra 30 HP. Plus the body style is not changing in 2012.

Porsche always sandbags on performance numbers. The Gen1 Turbo ran 3.3 but I think Porsche only claimed 3.7 or 3.8 or something. HP numbers will usually be higher if you dyno'd one compared to Porsches claims as well compared to other manufacturers, but that could be a result of the dyno used.

Now weight on the other hand is something Porsche is not so straight forward about.

Correct as there won't a turbo in 2012.
