give me your honest opinion
Agree 100%. They are nice, but too close to stock...keep stockers and spend the cash on something else...or go P40's like I did! ha!
I was having the same dilemma as you. I like the P40 but it seems they are everywhere and they are difficult to clean.
I went with the P47 as well as I like the clean look and I think they look a little more aggressive as well imho.
Love the brushed look as well but got mine in silver and in 20''. I personally love the look and thats all that matters.

The wheels are super. Don't lower it, don't paint the spoiler.
It rocks just as it is...

I love the wheels. This is my favorite design on a porsche now. Simple, light, well made, open faced. Can't beat it.
Im starting to think the p40 is a cheap look. It is now too similar to offerings on stock BMW and Audi and every single rip-off wheel maker in the market is producing the same wheel. I would venture to say it is getting to be more common than the brush mesh with chrome lip of 4 years ago.

Is this because the TT is white and has these particular rims or do you think this applies to all Turbos ?
I have a 997.2TT GT Silver/Balck with Turbo II wheels. Can't decide whether to keep the bottom pieces OEM black (which hides any nicks or scrapes) or paint GT Silver.

edit. Any chips can be avoided by doing the clear protective film over theses lower areas. It's relatively inexpensive to do. Also re my avatar I'm using 19" rf67 champs with painted and filmed sills and it doesn't make the car looked jacked up how it did before....IMO.

I just don't understand spending big bucks for wheels that look similar to stock. I would go with something that looks custom....something with nice lips or extreme concave. Since concaves are anothor fad, I'd go with lippage. Too many people with P40's.
All in all the car looks nice but you could have done better.
Nice ride!
This is strictly personal preference -- if you like it, that's the bottom line. 5 double spokes is a classic and classsy design and you simply can't go wrong with it. That said, since you asked (not sure of your choice?) and since you could switch, here is my opinion; strictly opinion, no right or wrong verdict here.
Because the 911 has soft curvy lines, overall I prefer a wheel that has soft lines, such as Champion RF67 (one of my early favorites) or HRE P40.
P47 is a beautiful wheel, but I believe it's a better fit for cars with more modern/straight lines, such as F430, where I think it will be stunning.
Because the double spokes of the P47 are close together (some other designs, like the Ferrari's, spread it apart a little more), the gaps in between the 5 double spokes of P47 are a little too big. Look at pics of your car's sideview and see the big gaps. Somehow it doesn't look right in a soft, curvy, classic (classical
) design of the 911. Again strictly personal preference, but I think I would like to see 6 double spokes as opposed to 5.
Don't go for P40 because it's HRE's number one product and many people adore it LOL. Or that any 7 fork mesh design is inherently right and beautiful, and as icing on the cake, used by nearly all Porsche race cars such as RS Spyder and ALMS GT class, and cup cars (BBS). Just kidding, but really what you like is most important.
By the same token, don't reject P40 because many others have it. Stating the obvious: if an object is beautiful, it's beautiful regardless of whether 1 person, or a thousand guys have it. In addition, while you see it here on the forum often, it's very very rare that you see another Turbo, let alone a Turbo with P40 on the street. Happy New Year, good luck and have fun!

. The other thing to consider too is that the new 5 spoke design signifies the car as a .2. Other than the taillights there really isn't really anything else that does.
Not a fan of the painted sills/lip. Especially on white. Reminds me of the 90's when all the truck guys painted the bumpers, mirrors & handles.
I like the contrast of the black. I agree w/ the P40's being played out also.
Good looking unique wheels.
Add the LED .2 tails to top it off!
