2011 Turbo S alarm sound

Does anyone knows how to change the alarm settings so that when I lock or unlock the car from remote, it makes beeping sounds?

Will

I'm pretty sure we do not have this feature. It's always silent unless you leave a door, trunk, hood open or ajar.

I love how my CayenneTT unlocks automatically when I grab the door handle and beeps twice when I lock it. Wish my 911TT did that... My wife's $35k Murano doesn't even need a damn key to be inserted.

I can't believe it, it's a very simple thing! It's like how they disable the SIM card slot in the US. I dealer told me it's not possible to enable it here.

As you've already figured out, there is no OEM beep for lock/unlock...but the locking mechanisim is pretty loud so you can hear it as you walk away. What do mean "disable the SIM card slot"? In the 997.1, PCM telephone functionality was an option so I don't think it was a matter of just enabling the SIM card slot. May be different in 997.2??

Even though the car is a 2011 in my case, my 2010 Panamera has certain features that the Turbo S doesn't have that one would expect. For example, the Panny PCM sees my Blackberry BT audio and can play music via BT; the Turbo S does not do this (although the manual indicates it does with certain devices). Different versions of PCM software, I presume. Dealer has no update for the Turbo PCM.

I was told that the sim card slot is for European cars only so they are disabled here in the US. I asked if that's something of a feature that can be turned on when connected to their computer and was again told no. I gave two phones so I'd love to just pop one sim card in the car and not carrying two phones any more.

Dan,

I had a panny loaner yesterday and the PCM on it does seem to have more features than the turbo version. I like the map function that shows the building shapes when I was in downtown! The back up camera with the virtual trajectory on screen was very cool!

It was an option on 997.1 - I have it use a prepaid SIM card and forward my cell to it when I'm driving. I've heard of folks buying a cloned SIM too. I'll have to check the 997.2 order guide and see it was an option.
