My 2007 has 4800 miles, bought it with only 1800 miles on it in 2009. I admit that the car is a garage queen and I like it that way. I drive a Lexus SUV to work and the Turbo goes out on weekends. Gives me something to look forward to. I am very protective of the car and only park it in end spots, etc. Car looks and smells brand new and it is a keeper. Glad to see there are others that cherish these rockets like I do

My car is going back on Monday after 3 years (lease) and 65,000 miles.

Gotta say it was one of the best cars I've had and I wouldn't mind driving it further, but there's no way to extend the lease without getting charged an arm and a leg.

I did start running into some reliability issues at around 53K miles. Overall it hasnt soured me on the car, it still performs marvelously.

But alas have to bid it farewell, now onto the R8 and well.. I won't say anything in a 997TT thread about it.

But certainly the 997TT was a special car and if I had financed it instead of leased it I would still be driving it, very satisfied and not looking for any replacements.

did you build that many miles into the least? that could be a huge penalty for excessive miles.

what sorts of problems did you start having

The lease was for 54,000 miles so Im not too bad. And yes the finance guy was looking at me crooked when I kept asking for more miles, but I told him I drive my cars.

Had the slave clutch cylinder bad twice, known issue, bad spark plugs from factory, cam shaft sensor fail, water pump also had to be replaced after 50-55K.

Nothing major to sour me, but I got my E46 M3 to 50K miles with no issues, but I was one of the lucky ones, certainly a lot of horror stories there.

I love my car, 25k miles and a RUF 550 conversion, very cool car. Plus with the GT1 engine and G50 tranny it's the last of a breed, what did Porsche call it...Masterwerk!

thoughts / question

I too am in love with my 08 i have 6800 miles. I am in the chicago area and put my car away in November and not usally take it out until April. I am determined to drive it much more as it makes me happy driving it. My question is how do i keep the salts and road grimme off of her during the bad weather? I dont have the time to hand wash her eveytime i take her out. I would be interested on what you guys think or recommend on how to keep her clean.

if i had a collectible or rare car, which the 997TT is not, i would feel the same way. but i doubt i could get that attached to a mass produced car thats still in production. i always want the latest and greatest!
