Need feedback on DME readout from 997 turbo

Hi guys.

Need some feedback on DME overrev from 997tt I am purchasing. It is a CPO.

range 1 - 759 747.1h
range 2 - 120 739.3h
range 3 - 26 739.3h
range 4 - 4 739.3h

no range 5 or 6

Should I be concerned about range 4?

Not really. Has the car been flashed? RL raised? That would throw false type 2-4s.

I don't believe so. I don't think they can certify if the car has been flashed. Number of programing shows 02 though.

Then it's been flashed, should be 01. It is not CPO-able, unless the dealer reprogrammed the ecu for some reason.

I have heard of this happening. Tiptronics sometimes have really odd over revs, despite a rev limiter and TCU to control rev shifts.

Guys,if you plug piwis to read your revs and at the same time drive your car to rev limit, you will see that tachometer shows less rpm than actual...when you hit limit at e.g. 7000rpm the engine really revs at 7200-7300rpm...
The above car had a misshift for sure (hours of over revs are the same for range2,3,4) but i wouldnt worry about it...

Do you know if the Durametric data log shows the number of programming?

There's lots of info in the report but this seems to be the only line item that might contain the programming??

Type ID DME control unit _997TUS00

Does that look like it?

I've asked this question of Durametric and never received a response. I regularly check my readings and at 631 hours (I'm over 650 now) my ranges 1 through 5 all incremented by 1 ignition. I don't understand this at all especially since I never get close to the rev limiter and am not aware that I ever have gone over 6,000 rpms...and 1 ignition in all 5 ranges?? Since there are 3 ignitions for every revolution, how do you get 1 ignition all the way from range 1 through range 5? Manual transmission, ECU not modded. Any thoughts.

I have looked at several DME reports while shopping for 997tt and most of them showed number of programming as 02. Couldn't imagine all those cars had been flashed and plus some of these were certified as well. I was thinking maybe it was due to software update by dealers during service/scheduled maintenance.

By the way, going back to my original question, i assumes these numbers are not too bad and they are not a deal breaker, right?

I think they look OK...relative to mine. I bought a used 2008 with overevs in all the ranges (not many in 4, 5 and 6) but the car was CPO (even with the overrevs disclosed). Looks like my car's overrevs occurred at about 7,000 miles - I'm at 20,000 miles now and the car is rock solid.

My car had number of programming ops as 2 as well when I bought it - and it was cpo car. I presume it was dealer programming an upgrade.
