Clear Bras, Cats, and Magic
Clear Bras, Cats, and Magic
I finally got the TT out of storage this past weekend and despite the 4" of new snow today cleaned it up pretty well for "early season".
Enter Mo Kitty, an Orange Tabby who is hopelessly devoted to me and perhaps the most inquisitive of the four cats that roam the house and the "Garage Mahal".
Anyway, our cats have always boundered around the cars and while they tromp on them regularly they have never left a mark aside from dusty paw prints. They seem to know claws don't work well on slick surfaces. Until today........
So, I'm sitting in the mahal enjoying a glass of cheap Chianti when Mo jumps on the rear wing, prances up the roof, hops to the driver side mirror and heads down the hood. (Time for much more wine, gulp.) But, so far, so good. Then crisis.
Upon hitting the clear bra, panic sets in as it's newly cleaned and in its polished state, very slippery.
Anyway, Full flaps! Claws to max! Although they deploy backwards relative to the slide the the effects are evident. A half dozen marks covering maybe 12"-18" in length and halfway across hood. Time for a new frunk piece methinks. Get out the Plexus, try a little of this, a little of that. No luck.
Then I remember my detailer's advice, "When all else fails, try isopropol alcohol (on the scratches, we keep the Chianti). So down to WalMart and $3 later for 91% Isopropol and a spray bottle we're in business.
Six applications and light buffing with a microfiber towel later, the scratches disappear! Completely! Absolute magic! Cat lovers and anyone else with scratches in their clear bra, check this out. Best,
