What he ^^ said.
Outside the track, AWD and PDK would get my vote any day, not just preference, but in street conditions, I'm pretty sure the turbo S would be faster.
On the track, the GT2 would be much faster, I reckon.

oh no people... please don't encourage comprehensive comparisons of cars be derived from a drag race.

The GT2 is much faster than the regular turbu pdk after 60 km/h.
How we can prove this turbo has not 650 hp?

The GT2 has over 40 hp and 200 kg less than the regular turbo pdk.
Sorry but my GT2 was always faster than stock turbos.

Credit for the above video goes to hesperus.

Here is his analysis:

the videos i posted recently raised a lot of questions, chief of which was "how could the GT2 lose by that much?"

so i tried a different approach this time, measuring both cars' 60-130mph times on a VBox. while the data was taken on two separate days, atmospheric conditions were basically the same:

- 88-89 deg F
- approx 80% relative humidity

both cars were also on the same gas, the equivalent (roughly) of CA 91 octane, at best.

both cars are 100% stock.

bottom line seems to be: 60-130mph, the two cars are basically just as fast as each other, BUT ONLY IF:

1) the GT2 is already ON BOOST;
2) the GT2 driver doesn't flub a shift

critically, it seems that the GT2 is indeed faster, as the speeds rise, and its the PDK's silly shifting that keeps it in the game.

from here you can see:

1) GT2 (blue line from bottom left corner to top right corner) is accelerating harder in each gear, but each time there's a shift, if falls behind again. in contrast, the PDK (orange line) acceleration is just seamless;

2) more importantly IMO, the GT2 is accelerating harder at the end. the slope of the PDK's acceleration curve is flattening out, whereas the GT2's is still looking pretty strong. FWIW, ave long-G's over the last 30mph or so of the run has the PDK is pulling about 0.28 G's, while the GT2 is pulling 0.31 G's.

finally, the PDK was actually going DOWNhill overall for this run (total elevation change was roughly -2 meters) while the GT2 was going UPhill, with a total elevation change of around +3 meters.

i know there's a way to normalize the numbers for the difference in level change, but someone will have to figure that one out for me

My take-away from all this is that in an ideal world, with a perfectly level surface, and with perfectly timed shifts, and with both cars on boost at the same time, YES the GT2 would be ahead.

but in the real world, the PDK driver holds the advantage-- at least at these "sane" speeds.

there's a lot of VBox experts out there i know, so if i've got my interpretation TOTALLY wrong, please speak up!
His analysis was dead on correct.

I tend to agree with x seal
the gt2 is better, but it would take a well driven gt2 to beat a 997.2tt pdk car in sport plus on the track, it'd dat good!

Take a look at the published times in all of the car mags. 997 TT S does 0-60 mph in 2.6, 0-100 in 6.3, and 1/4 mi in 10.7. Even the 997 gt2 rs can't come close to these numbers. Given this data the videos are believable. The gt2 is an awesome and fast car, but very few cars can keep up with the 997 TT S in straight line acceleration

Those calling the TTS numb are spoiled by the Gt2 and 3 which would make just about any supercar, exotic or sports car feel numb in comparison. But the TTS is a very good track performer when you compare with most other cars of any category.
That said in about 8 months I will be facing this same ? of whether I will get the TTS or one of the GT cars porsche offers.
Let us know what you decide and why.

I was faced with the choice between the 997GT2 and 997.2 tubo pdk,just a couple of months ago.I wanted to like the GT2 the best,but in the end I went for the 997.2.In UK,the climate is pretty cold much of the time and those Pilot Sport Cups just took too long to warm up and give good grip and traction.The Gt2,tyres warm,did drive and handle much better than the 997.1 turbo that I had before,I even prefered the ride,which seemed better damped.However,the 997.2 turbo wasn't that far behind it.Much better damped than the 997.1 turbo,much less front end "bobbing",less roll,better steering,more settled rear end,more grip and less reaction to lifting off the throttle in a bend.It was confidence inspiring and fun.IMHO the 997.2 turbo is a bigger improvement,handling-wise,over the 997.1 turbo,than some people would have one believe.
