2012 Turbo S Build Sheet
This may help...
'11 Turbo S
I swapped rims with a Carrera GTS.
As mentioned elsewhere, adaptive seats were a deal breaker for me. I like the clear tail light as well. I removed the designation at the dealership. Crested headrest is also great for a first P car (in my case).

Nobody will get a "deal" on my 07 as it will need to be returned to Porsche to do the deal on a 2012. My 07 has 45K plus miles on her (she is a DD). I believe the buyback is approx. $80K plus (msrp was approx. $151K). I know at the end of the lease the buyback in June, 2012 would be approx. $57K. The truth is I want to avoid wasting time on buying/selling nonsense which is another reason to just return my 07 and re-lease another TT.
This will be my 3rd TT coupe. IMHO the TTS is worth it for me as I really don't care anymore about the carbon, deviated stitching, painted bits, aero stuff, etc. What I do care about are the goodies that are standard on the TTS. For example, on the TTS you get a (purportedly) slightly beefed up PDK with paddles, PCCB, Torque vectoring, adaptive sport seats, RS rims, a bit more HP, I think a slightly more aggressive sound, etc. ... all stock from the factory with a 4 yr./50K mile warranty. Not saying a TT with the right options wouldn't work, but since I have to live with her for 4 years why not try to get what you want.

I haven't heard of any specific problems with the 2011 or 2012 TTS coupes or cabs. I think coming from an M5 or even the M6 the TT will be a radically different ride, both in terms of power delivery (normally aspirated vs. TT) and handling (RWD vs. AWD). Barring being behind the wheel of a modded M5, the TT is so much faster in everyday stoplight to stoplight driving situations that you will be quite pleased. The only downside is that you will give up a significant amount of interior space. The M5 is a big car with a real rear seat whereas the TT's rear seat is tiny by comparison. The difference between doing your 0-60 in 3 seconds vs. 4.5 seconds will ALWAYS have you grinning. The M series cars are truly excellent daily drivers, but while the TT is also a daily driver, it has supercar performance. IMHO you will never go back to an M car after having a TT.

I started with a MB AMG and this car had insane power but no soul. Then ended up with an Aston Martin Vantage which was an amazing car, but it lacked the ponies. This is when, I ended trying the M's -M6 and M5(currently). The M's have been the closest cars to put a nice smile on my face. You feel the heritage/breed of this car. It has soul.
Now Porsche is very new to me, and I hope it satisfies my inner child.
