Protomotive E85 and The Knighton Farm
Protomotive E85 and The Knighton Farm
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Protomotive which is situated in the Ozark National Forest in Northern Arkansas where they build some of the world’s fastest Porsche’s. Unfortunately, my time there was very limited as I was due in Nashville later that day plus TK was out of town. I did manage, however, to snap a few pics.
Of course I got a little lost on the scenic country roads but was greeted with open arms by two co-workers who guided me to “The Farm.” <o

Todd’s driveway is about 2.5 miles long. Perfect for testing and tuning—lol. <o

Some picturesque scenery along the driveway.

At the end of the driveway was the motor out/clutch installed.

ICs modded with BOVs (hard to do this mod with the .2ICs
)

My Big Gulp straw is larger than these stockers...

Talk about gasping for air....!

In good company with a GT2 stablemate.

Even though Todd wasn’t there, he did phone-in to say hello from the Middle East. He’s a class act. The guys in the shop were absolutely terrific, saw some great fab work going on and couldn’t have been more impressed. This is your ultimate “mom and pop” shop, never mind that you have to cross into the Twilight Zone. <o

Thanks P!
Good eye Bobby! Nothing gets past you.
Yeah, it's been in the works. Need to input more data in the AUC thread--LOL.
Releases pressure from turbo build up when you let off the gas or ethanol in this case--lol. I think you're referring to the wastegate actuator.

Yeah, pretty special.
Need to meet the King one day. Maybe next mod...
It's the flap that opens and closes on the exhaust side to control turbine speed and thus boost pressure. Pretty simple device actually but so important for optimal functioning of the turbo. I wish I had more time to talk shop but I had a very important event (as you know
) that I had to attend in Nashiville that day which, if I missed, my wife would have me sleeping in that car--lol.
Those are 5"-ers.

Hey Ed, it's all Keitha's fault. I started chatting with Todd soon after his E85 post. Surprisingly we haven't discussed any numbers whatsoever partly because I'm not out to break any records especially on a stock motor. We're just focusing on tuning and it will curious to see the shape of the curve compared to gas.
