Issue with Rottec LED tail light. Any suggestions?

I just received my Rottec LED tail lights yesterday and installed them in the evening. I checked their functionality but for whatever reason the driver side brake light does NOT work. Everything else seems to be working fine (turn signals, normal tail lights, passenger side brake light). Any ideas on what the issue could be? I have contacted Ray and am waiting for a solution, but figured I would check the board to see if anyone else has had such an issue. The factory OEM lights worked perfectly btw so definitely not a wiring issue. I guess I should check the reverse lights on the Rottec units as well.

This doesn't sound right. I presume you've checked all connections and no error lights? I would work with Ray to resolve the issue. Ray provides exceptional customer service. He can be super busy at times but he will eventually resolve this issue for you.

try it out on the other side, should be enough wire to test as obviously it wont fit That will narrow it down quick enough.

I do have an error light. The car says to check left brake light and left tail light, which is the side the Rottec brake light is not working.

I'm sure you checked the obvious things but I remember that the 5 sockets can be confusing and very easily mixed up (in fact the early posted instructions were incorrect) - make sure the driver's side setup is exactly like the passenger side (I'm assuming passenger side works OK?). Some of early posts have some good pictures of the color coded sockets. Also, the owner's manual has a picture too of the where the sockets go. Ray is very good about responding. Here's some more info:

White Socket (No Tag) - Brake Light
Black Socket - Rear Light
Orange Socket - Signal Light
Brown Socket - Backup Light
White Socket (With Tag) - Fog Light / Side Marker.

I have checked the wiring twice now and it has been correct from the beginning. I am 100% sure that it is the light itself that is bad.

Have you tried the suggestion of trying the bad (drivers) light on the passenger side to see if you get the same results.

I will do that this evening. However, if there truly is nothing wrong with the driver side light, how come I had zero issues with my stock lights? I will post my findings this evening with switching the two lights and as of right now I would be surprised if it works switched around. Let's say that it does, what would that indicate?

I guess it would just be further confimation that the driver's side light is bad. If the passenger side light also doesn't work with the driver's side wiring then I'd think that something was wrong with the driver's side wiring or connectors - sometimes those bayonet fittings don't always mate properly when inserted and twisted. Let us know how it turns out.

the CANBUS system works in weird ways, if it sees less draw it may not power the light, swapping both to the other sides to test will confirm this. All you may need is a resistor vs. an entirely new light.

Hey Jay, sent you an email. Lets try to test with the connections first. If it due to defected LED, it will covered by warranty with replacement.

Got it. Will swap the driver and passenger side once I get home and see what happens.

Alright folks I have determined it is indeed the driver's side light that is faulty. I swapped the driver and passenger side Rottec units as soon as I got home and this time it was that same driver's side light that did not work when connected to the passenger side harness. I have contacted Ray and am hoping to get a good unit by expediated shipping. Just my luck that I would receive a set that is bad. Even when ordering the lights from the group buy I sent Ray an email before leaving on vacation and it somehow slipped through the cracks (never received a set). And let's not mention (again) the nightmare I went through in getting a 997 turbo in the first place...
