Let's consider this. When the market was down i.e. 2008-2009, you could get a nice 996TT (not ****ty 70k milers) with like 30k miles for low-mid 40's as the sold price, ask was a little higher around $50k. At the same time, I vividly recall lot's of 2007 997TT's trading for mid 60's to low 70's. So this year, the asking prices went bonkers across the board. All i'm saying is that the current asking's of mid 80's-100k for a car that is approaching 5 years old will not be reinforced by actual sales for very much longer. Sorry, these only cost $130-$150k (on a good day) new and they're 5 years old and they are now almost 2 generations old.

I'm sure this is the same mentality that Cayenne Turbo owners must have. Those go for mid 20's and cost 5x that new. Food for thought.

I don't think the 997.1tt prices will drop much in the next few months or even by January. Right now I'm seeing the 07's in the 70k range. The 08-09 will drop closer to 07 prices once the warranty is up. I'm pretty sure in 1-2 years when the 991tt's come out it, the 997.1tt's are going to take a good hit and you will start seeing them in the 50k range. Pristine examples will of course be higher. The 996tt's hovered around the 60k range for a while until the 997tt came out and now clean ones can be had for under 50k, even the X50's. If you want a p-car which holds it's value go for a GT3. I'm surprised to see 996 GT3's still selling for 60k.

As a newer 997.1 TT onwer, that searched extensively for my car, I only came across 2 examples in the 70's. Both were over 30K miles and had the "murdered out" look along with some mods that I did not find attractive. Many to choose from in the 80-90 range with the upper end being the garage queens which is how I like my girls!

I've been looking for a 2007 TT for quite some time now and local dealers have been moving them for their asking price of 84-89k. Offering anything under 80k has been laughed off for any examples with less than 20k miles. I finally ended up finding one out of state for the right price.

I guess you guys are more sensitive about mileage than I am. I don't mind finding one in the 30-40k mile range(8-10k miles/year).

I'm not sure how, but it seems to be quite accurate, this web site uses algebra to predict a car's future value. Check it out. I've been using it to see how long I need to wait before the 997 becomes "affordable" for me

You are correct, I have no interest in a turbo with 30-40K miles. I prefer lower miles cars (and girls that didn't have too many lovers before me )

That calculator is worthless imho in predicting a car's future value. It would only be good if value was solely based on mathematics alone, which it is not.

But as a ballpark gauge, it seems to be a decent starting point from the numbers I've put in.

I figure 50-55% of base price would be a good estimate after 5 years.
