Heat Shielding

Is there any logic to my thinking that if I apply a heat shield material to the inside of my stock air box cover that I will reduce engine compartment temperature influence on the incoming outside air?

I would guess that at speed the rush of air entering the area would occur fast enough not to be influenced much by this. Your better off swapping in better intercoolers like the 997.2 type.
