Playing devil's advocate for just a second....how is our wing any more unsightly then, let's say, a GT3 Cup wing? (which you previously mentioned as an option).

Tom at CMS, I don't pretend to be an aerodynamic engineer so pardon my lack of knowledge, but is there a way to quantify the amount of down force from your rear wing vs. the GT3 cup wing ( assume front splitter is your's or equivalent to GT2 ). Also, not sure you picked up my question in prior post, but I'm concerned with an expensive CF front splitter...do you make it in a poly material or other less expensive version and will it fit properly on a stock 997.1 front bumper cover? Finally, can you quantify the need for the rear diffuser...love the looks of it, but what functionality does it really provide? Thanks in advance for your help.

It's not in that respect. It's just one clearly is an afterthought. The decklid gives the game away. I just see a Porsche as a car that's a little too grown up for those kind of obvious tack ons....imho. Your spoiler isn't hideous, just disjointed with the deckled....therefore an obvious afterthought. Ok on a ricer with a young driver, people that would look would automatically understand the show off/attention need factor. An obvious after thought look on a Porsche is a bit "try hard" for me. But if some like it, terriffic!

I have literally TONS of data from the wind-tunnel showing the additional downforce that our rear wing provides at various speeds. But I don't have corresponding data for the cup wing so it would be hard to draw a direct comparison. Our tests were done versus the stock turbo wing.

As for the front, unfortunately we only have the splitter in carbon. However, I should mention that at it's lowest point, the Werks1 front splitter is only .5 inches lower then the factory spoiler.

As for the rear diffuser, what it does is reduce lift at the rear axel. Here are a few graphs that we've put together years back when these parts were initially designed. Hopefully this will explain a little bit of what these parts do.

Tom:

Would the W1 rear diffuser provide increased stability at high speeds.

Thanks,
SLOW

Absolutely. See diagram 2 above. Best part is that it only adds .011cd of drag
