I think the black series is a perfect choice- love that 7speed 63 motor in it. 700 miles is brand new; i think its an excellent car that mercedes made, just a downgrade from a turbo, speed wise and in the twistys... the RWD is a ton of fun for the track, but not so much the rain and cold days, those MBs put down some good torque to have those tires spinin. I Looked into a black series before my turbo- and then ended up having an S63 as my daily driver for a while.. Good luck and enjoy!

+1, well said. I have a 2008 997tt 6sp with softronic tune, bilsteins, exhaust, etc etc and have a clk63 BS as my daily driver. great car - comfortable, handles really well and is very fast.

I almost got one of those vs. getting my Turbo...but they wanted over MSRP by quite a bit. Love the way they look.

excellent, so what are the differences since you have both to compare, without the softronic tune? what do you like /dislike about both cars, thanks

Been talking about the same thing for a while. Definitely wouldn't buy a 700 mile car if it's daily driver. The cars can be had for $7x,xxx with 10-20K miles.

Definitely a special car with long term collector value. You can bolt in CLK back seats and seatbelt if you have kids

get a thorough inspection before you buy it. It will also come with some mfg warranty still left and look into the cost of aftermarket warranties and factor that into your purchase cost. besides the obvious size, storage and interior differences you can get from just sitting in the cars, compared to the 997tt - it is not as fast and does not handle as well. However, the handling, braking and acceleration are still exceptional, this is a heavier RWD car. It is very fun to drive with tons of torque in a naturally aspirited motor with no lag. Google the Jeremy Clarkson Top Gear video for his driving review of the car.

CLK63 BS is less flashy???

I had a 07 E63 ran it to 100k miles. In that time, Replaced a Cam($900) Control arms ($500) Front strut ($400) and Tires. You should be able to pick up a pretty Low mileage one for Mid 40's

If anyone is looking for a black series I have a white one that ha the Weistec supercharger on it. Makes 560whp on pump gas. You could do an inexpesive upgrade to get another 50 whp. It also makes 550 ft lbs of torque. Absolute beast. Its white, black wheels, carbon lip etc. Will be featured in European car mag next month or the month after. Has 7500 miles if your interested let's chat.

great looking cars...there was a renntech one here in town with all sorts of goodies...but it was super slow. They look great though - would definitely rock one as a DD.
