Rear wing error message

Hi guys, I installed a Techart rear bootlid and rear wing last week and now am getting an error message everytime i go above 75mph. Is there anyway to disable this warning myself using Durametric, or do I have to use PIWIS at a dealer to remove it?

What kind of wing did you get? If it is fixed, and you have disconnected the harness, you will need to program your ECU to shut off the hydraulic deployment (like in a GT3 or GT2.)

You can do this with Durametric 6.0B or PIWIS.

I had the dealer use PIWIS since I don't have the Durametric. See my thread here for details - so if your dealer pretends "they don't know" what to do, you can just spell it out for them. I would think programming in a fixed spoiler should be similar for the TT compared to the NA 997's

Thanks for the tip guys. My wing is a Techart type II one. Will pop by the dealer tomorrow and see if they can help me out.

By the way it seems that my car is not boosting right in 3rd gear after i installed the rear wing. Not sure if its just my imagination or if the car is cutting boost above 75mph because of the error codes. Will find out tomorrow hopefully ...

Be prepared for what the dealership is going to tell you.

1. They can't do it.

2. They don't know how to do it.

3. You need to plug in a wiring harness.

None of the above are true. 996TTs needed a harness to trick the ECU into not alarming.

Have them connect the PIWIS tester and switch on the car's ignition. Once the select the correct vehicle type, they need to go to the menu for the rear control unit coding, and choose the menu for the spoiler. Motronics is really no different for the the same generation 997s, of which the GT2, GT3 (and RS variants) have fixed wings.
