Angry 997.1tt stock exhaust tip rust

Hi guys. Just noticed a bit of rust on top of both exhaust tips. Is this normal?

Then you probably have the early non-chromed stainless steel tips.

a good metal polish like wenol or simichrome should take it off

You're saying that there are
two exh-tips for 997.1, a stainless
and an up-grade stainless with shinny chrome? Never heard this. That EP1 of yours would look better with more chrome in the teardrop tips. I'll have to check with Porsche on this for a part #.

The early non-chromed brushed stainless steel tips were replaced with chromed stainless steel tips.

The non-chromed tips are no longer available:
# 997 111 251 01
# 997 111 252 01

Chromed tips:
# 997 111 251 02
# 997 111 252 02

Appreciate the photo....price only $261 ea...this is what the turbo needs to fill its 2-teardrop designed holes. The original stainless tips were dull. The only chrome tips available as aftermarket are the two adjacent round tips which i feel look a little odd in the teardrop holes. Besides turbos have stayed exclusive with the teardrop design, a shame to put round holes into teardrop settings.
