Rear brake pad question

I just changed out my front pads today. Very simple. I will be doing the rears tomorrow and wanted to know if the caliper has to be removed in order to change out the pads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No you don't need the calipers removed to change out the pads.

Go to Youtube, there are several video clips showing you how this is done on a Porsche. It should be fairly similar....Good luck.

I have both Hawk HPS and EBC red stuff. Most likely will use the EBC for less brake dust.

On my 09 997.1 TT you definitely need to remove the calipers on the rear to do the pads, along with those pesty little brake pad warning sensors. Front are a piece a cake...rears take a little finesse...but after you do it two or three times its also a piece of cake.

Below is a great link. It saved me twice!

Scroll down to post # 1,143 concerning the rears.

Good luck!

FYI: Rear Caliper bolts Torque to 80Nm
