First TT - wow

Just made the move to join the TT club from 996/997.1 past!

Traded in my 08 997.1 C4S and picked up this new blk/blk 2012 997.2 TT - looked at an S but I figure I'll go for that with the next upgrade.
+Sports chrono pkg plus
+XM radio
+park assist
+wheel caps w/ colored crest
+heated front seats
+heated steering wheel

Going from 345 hp to 500 is just ....wow. And the engine grumble as the PDK auto down shifts coming to a stop, makes the move from die hard 6spd manual rower an equal trade. I still miss rowing the gears, but PDK is definitely growing on me.

Thought I'd need to add a different exhaust but the stock roar under acceleration and grumble at low revs is just perfect, don't really need a PSE like with my 996 and 997 which was always my first upgrade after the must have SSK.

Now I just have to figure out a way to get my break in period done ASAP

Awesome. Looks great. Plan a trip next weekend about 6 hours away, each way and you will be done with the breakin shortly.

Enjoy your new ride.

Congratulations on your new car. Did you order the car or was it instock at the dealer? What tires are on the car?
Take a trip to Atlanta and back, that will help.
Geterdone before the snow shows up.

Terrific car - congrats! I prefer to use the term "run-in" period and leave out the work "break" altogether.

Hope to join your ranks one day soon. Enjoy that monster.

moz, congrats on the new car! great seeing the loyalty to porsche, and progression through their 911 lineup. a true measure to the value and usability that porsche brings to its customers...once we join the club we can't stop coming back for more. get past the break in period and enjoy in good health.

Went into dealer thinking I'd order to spec, but had one in stock with exact setup I wanted, with exception of heated steering wheel. I like option of having heated seats even though I don't use a lot - there's still a few months even in Los Angeles weather where it's a nice option.

But heated steering wheel seems pretty useless. But with that as only consideration or waiting months for an order, I decided on immediate gratification

Tires - came with Michellin Pilot Sport N2.

By the way, this board as usual knows all answers to common problems. I had plugged my iPod in and drove around yesterday listening to music. iPod died today and couldn't figure out why when I confirmed it was securely plugged in.

Did a search and found a thread on it - answer was plug the iPod in (which I did) and also plug the USB connector on the y-cable provided into the USB port to charge iPod (which I hadn't done)

Went out and bought another iPod so I could permanently leave one in the car.

By the way, first turbo so not sure if I got a bad, ok, or good deal.

My last p-car I got early 09 as one of last 08 cars dealer had on lot, so got what I thought was a good deal, about 10k off sticker

This new turbo was sticker $149,330 - eventually settled on $6k off sticker

I'm going to be happy either way, fair deal I thought and my time is worth something too, was in and out of there under an hour. Anyone have comments or experience with recent buys if 6k off is a bad, avg, good deal?
(this was from Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena, California - and bad economy or not, this area of LA seems to still have people buying Porsches in volume)
