tiptronic mod????

Hello to you all,
After spending hours of reading and confirming precious information around the forums regarding tuning of 997.1 turbo tip, I finally think I've found a stage that suits me for now. The mods I intent to do: Air filter, larger throttle body along with a larger diameter carbon Y-pressure pipe, modified GT2 turbos with larger compressor wheel (about 50mm), Europipe stage 1 exhaust, high flow intercoolers and of course ECU tune along with TCU. Based on my own knowledge the car will probably run at 1.3 bar or 19psi producing 630-640 hp. My worries are based on my transmission as some tuners reinforce it at that stage and others don't bother at all apart from a TCU tune. I would really appreciate your thoughts on that matter and If you could enlighten me with your experience this would certainly be a relief. I don't really want to risk my tranny at all. The car is completely stock for now...

I don't think you'll need to do your trans...When I started my search, Todd from protomotive, told me stay away from the gt2 turbos in a tip...He said there will be to much lag with them in a tip...He suggested a modified version of the standard turbos...G/l with your upgrades...What tuner do you have in mind?

Thanks Skeeter, I haven't decided the tuner yet... this package is just my own hardware preference. Regarding ECU and TCU tune this is going to be done by Jimmy from PP-Performance Germany. Very good ECU tuner indeed.

Do you thing it'll lag that much??? I think that a lot of tuners tried that, but I certainly don't know their client's opinion on the result. Some owners claimed 670-680 hp with those VTGs. I hope someone that did this VTG upgrade can share his experience though...

better to go with hta 3071's rather than gt2 vtg's.. similar response, much more power. And carbon y-pipe won't give you much, I'd rather to buy a complete fenderwell intake kit. Much more efficient.

I had a 2008 997TT Tip with 68mm VTG's among other upgrades including the trans and it was very quick. So quick you could not shift manually. It was not TTS quick but I think it would surpass the TTS beyond 100 MPH. Definetely in the low 3 seconds 0-60 and low to mid 6 seconds 0-100. Champion did my car as they have several on the forum. As far as the transmission upgrade I think whiteknight (Emre) holds supreme.

BTW: My car was right at 675WHP.

for big vtgs you should take europipe stage 2.
you should also think about air delivery for turbos...

3071 is certainly not a bad idea besiktas. Thanks. Also maybe you're right regarding intake. I considered also a GT2 intake although some tuners disagree with that and others love the idea. But I think that if you use 3071s you'll be needing connecting rods also for safety reasons apart from a tip mod...

I forgot to mention that my car is a cab... I'll be having some drone in the cabin with a stage 2 although it sounds great. My car is also a DD so I have to be careful with some things that restrict the car's everyday drivability...
Regarding air delivery for turbos what would you recommend?

The gt2 intake is smaller than the TT. If you want I have one OEM GT2 intake to sell.

Does someone offer a fender-well intake kit? I've only seen this mod done with aftermarket ICs and Tial/Garrett turbos as part of a full "tuner kit".
