Introduction of my relatively new ride
Hello,
Father's day of this year I picked up a 2007 TT. 18K miles, 2 year cpo, adaptive seats, carbon interior. Since that time I have had the Bilstein B16 suspension and HR front and rear bars installed at Sharkwerks. I recently installed the OEM SSK and purchased Durametric software. This weekend I completed installation of the GT2RS intercoolers.
This is a really fun car. Thanks to so many on this forum who have provided information on this car. I hope to contribute as well.
I will post shortly on the intercooler install for those interested.
Thanks
jim

Wow, the Meteor Grey looks very nice. Was on the fence about this color, but I will actually consider it now.

Thanks to all for the comments. floridaBMW: The cable I have does have Softronic labeling. The software was down loaded from Durametric. I have not done much with it other that to confirm it is working and I can talk to the car.
sharkster: You guys did a nice job working on the car.
shamoo: For what it is worth, its actually easy to take care of. I feared such a dark color, like black, would need constent attention. But it does not.
Doc GTO: I not sure in my lifetime I can raise the bar on a father's day, but I will try. It was way up there materially speaking.
Shlinmd: White was my first choice, metor gray my second.
Hello jpw2b,
I am very satisfied with the set up that was installed. I have been a long time customer of Bilstein products on many cars over the years. My package came with new shaped drop links to address drop link failures, which are well documented. I wanted to lower the car slightly. The factory settings seemed to soft for my taste with lots of squat during accell/decell and more side to side roll. The sport mode for me felt too stiff. Now the normal setup feels better to me with much less squat and the sport mode not so harsh as the factory setup. I have the bars set to soft in the front and medium in the rear. The car was lowered about 12mm. While I can not quanify with hard data between the Bilstein and factory, for me the ride feels better.
I just did a track day at laguna seca on Wednesday of this week. With the car in sport mode, pasm off, it behaved very neutral provided I did not enter turns to hot. Doing so would produce understeer, unless of course you backed out and it would predictably get very tail happy. With the appropriate entry speed I could four wheel drift the car and on the tighter turns would produce throttle induced oversteer powering out.
If your in the bay area I would be glad to give you a ride so you can feel for yourself. Its always a wise idea if you can to get or take a ride to see if you like it. Some of this is so subjective.
Thanks
