Go to your bank! Don't ever deal with the dealer finance group unless they can beat the bank! It sounds like they are trying to do some type of bait and switch deal. May not be the right term, but you hear of people who are desperate to get a car to get to work getting taken advantage of, it would be great to flush them out if they are just trying to squeeze you for money to take the points back as profit. Call a local consumer finance protection group tell them you have a live one and set them up to get caught!

and what kind of specs did it have ?

i am currently looking for a white 997 turbo and am ready to make a purchase, but this time i want to take my time and get the EXACT options (or more, not less) that i want.
The car came out to be $86K after tax/title/licensing fees. It's speed yellow (not white), but it's absolutely loaded to the hilt with almost everything possible. Makes me sad.

Check out Porsche of the Village in Cincinnati Ohio. They have a 07 Turbo there. It's probably the highest optioned Turbo I've seen for the lowest price. Plus it's CPO.

Someone take it. Then come here and let me drive it. :P

Good luck with your search - that's half the fun. If you think getting a car loan was difficult, wait until you go after a mortgage.

Luckily my home is paid off. However, I'm selling it (since I moved to CA) and I'm looking for something nicer here. Looks like I'll have to open up a mortage. Hopefully it won't be a large one.

Best of luck, all worked out for the best. The loan declines were not a good sign.
