Are you talking about vinyl that "looks" like carbon fiber, or actual carbon fiber material that can be used to wrap certain panels?

Might be better to just get a CF wing? You could probably get a CF hood too, but I assume that would cost much more. You might check with Tony (T07S997), as I recall he had a nice CF wrap on his prior 997.

Funny you ask, I have just looked into 3M.
They make two CF vinyls (or something to that effect). Both are warranteed for several years (I believe 3-5 years), have a texture, and can be clear coated.
You can get samples direct from 3M for #1080 and they will send all the colors in a packet. #1080 Black CF is the closest to Porsche OEM CF. #1080 is made specifically for wrapping vehilces but the other, 3M Di-Nox, can also be used. I would suggest calling 3M and asking for a sample pack of 1080. They have a list of certified installers. I am using it but in a place that is not easily viewed up close (over the top of the GT2RS diffuser which is black). I would have it wrapped in "real" CF as I did the skirts and splitter but unfortunately the diffuser is only an extension of the rear end of the GT2RS and not a seperate piece.
The black #1080 CF looks very close to real CF and from 3-4 ft you cannot tell the difference, particularly down low and under like the diffuser.

Eddie from Detailing Dymanics does this work. He does unbelievable work and I have seen some of the CF wraps he has done first hand. He clear filmed 85% of my car and it looks great. More important than the material is the installer.

I had a very good conversation with North West Auto Salon in Lynwood WA. They have a very good website www.northwestautosalon.com and were very knowledgeable when on the phone too. They even wrapped a Koenigsegg CCX, if that can speak to their ability.

Installation is key to make it look good.
I had it done on my hood and it looks really good. I have received nothing but compliments...and some people swear up and down it is real carbon fiber. It is obviously not.
