2008 Porsche GT2

I am a total nutjob guys...but would love your advice. I had ordered a 2012 Turbo S but prior to taking delivery I noticed the depreciation of this car is insane. I have never bought a used car before but times like this I think it makes some sense. What do you think the correct price is for a 2008 911 gt2. There is one in my area with 4k miles for 159k. That seems to high...I know this is a very limited production care but shouldn't the depreciation be even higher ? What do you guys think of this car.

I am not looking for a daily driver. I drive my car around 4k miles per year but want something fun and able to white knuckle me.

Talk to me...

My 2008 GT2 purchased in June 2010 from Ken Lingenfelter with 192 miles sold for $153K.

Manheim auction data should help you. Rough guess would be $130-140s for that mileage.

120-130 seems like the right number for a clean car with no accidents and <10k miles.

Higher mileage (like 27k miles +) have sold in the last 2 weeks for 100k. I missed them, but if any more are out there, point me at one.

Actually it was 7.7k miles and was $125k. They were asking $139k which was 10k lower than most others listed at that time. I got very lucky, did not take much negotiation and they dropped 14k off the price just like that.

Great price - I paid 155K for my 2008 about 1 year ago with 325 miles on it. The GT2 do hold their price fairly well as do the TTS. Particularly when they run out of 2012's. At least I would presume so until the TT 991's are released.

It was a nearly new car...I think he drove it a few times, and did a launch at the strip, and then stored it in his showroom. You can see it at 5:35 in this youtube vid.

Pretty reasonable price at the time.

My dream garage. Great video. And I thought all I needed was a three car garage.
