value of GT2

I am looking at a 2008 GT2 that has 45,000 miles. It has been driven daily but well maintained. The owner had a small bump in the left front that was professionally repaired by dealer(he still has the LF fender that can be viewed). My question is what value would you think based on miles and the incident. Would the miles hurt the car if properly maintained or the repair if done at a dealer? The owner has all service records and encourages a dealer ppi. I'm just trying to determine a value for the car or should I just walk away and just keep my 2001 996 turbo with 5,600 miles. Thanks for your input.

I think it will all depend on how well maintained it truly was. No doubt it is a lot of miles for that type of car, but, if you plan on keeping if for a while and the car is in really good shape, then why not? Look what similar cars are going for and then deduct based on miles and due to the repaired fender...I would think 10-15k off or so?

I have heard of 2 selling in SoCal (maybe one was yours?) for 100k in the last 2 weeks. I was going to go buy an 03 GT2 tomorrow for 85k, but if an 08 can be had for 15k more with a few miles on it, that may be the way to go.
Where the heck do I find a 30k mile+ 08 GT2 at though? Both the ones I know about just went directly to buyers or wholesalers.

Sobrut911 is infamous around these parts
No doubt high mileage can hurt resale value, but I'd be more concerned with whether the prior owner(s) properly maintained it, cared for/detailed it and if it was heavily tracked. If you're only going to put 5400 miles on it in the next ten years like your 01 it'll only have 50,400 miles which would be reasonable/ low mileage for a 14 year old car and shouldn't hurt resale value. I'd also check out the TTS. My brother has an 01TT which I almost went in half on. The new TTS is a completely new beast. My advice, regardless of your choice, make sure you're not the richest man in the cemetery.

Yeah, the 03 I am looking at has under 3k miles and has sat for too long - someone needs to drive that car. The 997 TT-S are still in the 150 range aren't they? I am looking at them, but wanted to wait another year or so before dropping crazy amounts on a new ride.

Considering you dont drive the 996 too often I think you will be unhappy in a higher mileage car. You will see wear and tear that your car doesnt have, and you will consider the differential paid and will not be happy.
Why from a 996TT to a GT2? why not a 997TT? or TTS next year?
I suggest you aim for a TTS next year... and one with lower miles.
