Lowering springs
+1 on the GMG springs. Lowers the car just enough but too much for a daily driver.
I am on the fence between GMG and Champion. They appear to look better then the standard Eibach and H&R springs.
Anyone have any addition comment on the ride quality of either set? Additional pics are also welcomed!

I have had the Champion set-up in since I took delivery of the car three years ago, love it. Also, have CMS Sway Bars, Front Shock Tower Brace, and Bump Steer Kit.
The car does sit low and you need to always know where you are going before you get there. Angle in and out of every entrance, else scrape! It takes patience. If you're not willing to deal with caution, I would advise sticking with the stock set-up or one that drops/lowers the car less.
PS: 21,000+ on her already...

I can't speak for the CMS springs but the GMGs ride great!
We only use H&R springs. Even our Champion branded springs were produced by H&R.
I have tons of pictures if you're looking for a particular car, or rim size. Let me know if you want to see a particular one, I'll post.

This is a great topic so I wanted to chime in and add some information for all of you.
As many of you know GMG has always excelled in the suspensions and handling of Porsche cars, this is partly due to our involvement in professional racing with Porsche cars.
In World Challenge competition we are almost always out gunned in terms of HP against the cadillacs, vipers, corvettes mustangs and just about every other car in the GT field. But what we lack in straight horsepower and speed down the straightaway we have always made up in the corners and corner speed.
While the other guys are working on more power we are always working on the handling performance of our cars and what we learn on the track translates directly to our suspension components.
The 997.1 and 997.2 Turbo was a platform that we felt really needed a great suspension upgrade without going to coil overs so we developed theWorld Challenge springs with Eibach over 4 years ago. Initially for the 997.1 and now for the 997.2 turbo.
We choose to go with Eibach to make our springs and sway bars because they would build them to our specifications and not just rebrand a existing spring as other companies due for many of the tuners around the world.
In addition to that working with Eibach engineers in So Cal directly would allow us to design a product that would work on the roads and tracks we had in the states.
Over 6 months of development and multiple design changes went into developing a spring and sway bar package that worked with the stock PASM damper in both normal mode and sport mode.
In addition to the great spring design we developed a sway bar package that would work with our lowering spring but also with coil over kits such as JRZ- Ohlins-Moton- KW etc.
Below is the info on our spring from our website:

GMG WC Sport lowering springs for 997TT
GMG is proud to introduce its "World Challenge" Sport Lowering spring sets for Porsche 997TT. Designed, tested and developed with Eibach the GMG WC Sport Lowering Spring sets are made to GMG's exact specifications. Unlike some most tuners who simply take an off the shelf lowering spring and rebrand it with their name, we choose to develop a completely new design that would not only improve the handling of the 997TT but would also improve the comfort and ride quality while maintaining maximum control and remaining fully compatible with the Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM) dampers.

GMG's relationship has been very strong for many years through our World Challenge Motorsport program and as "tuning partner" both companies knew that they needed to come up with a spring design that would set the standard. After testing all the various manufacturers springs we quickly discovered that the majority of springs companies who were making springs for the 997TT were actually making the spring with softer rate to achieve the lowered ride height. While this achieves the desired look it does absolutely nothing for the performance of the vehicle and in most cases as with the 997TT it would have a negative effect on the vehicle handling making it worse than factory.

We could have easily jumped on the band wagon and done the same. But, we decided to develop a spring that would improve the cars performance and the day to day characteristics. A stock set of dampers were sent out to Eibach to be tested to see what kind of spring rate they could control while still maintaining reliability. After several tests and several spring design changes we finally achieved our goal. A truly progressive step less pitch design that offered the lowered look everyone is looking for while improving the handling and ride comfort of the vehicle. The GMG WC Sport Lowering Springs are designed to work with the factory shocks both in stock mode and sport mode. We feel that our formula for the GMG (WC) World Challenge Sport Lowering Springs is the best in the world.

To further improve the handling of your 997TT we recommend our GMG WC Sport Sway bar kit which is 3 way adjustable front and rear and fully compatible with stock drop links and have no issues with front axle interference.

A lowering spring and sway bar combo is a great hassle and maintenance free way to improve a cars handling- ride quality and looks at a very reasonable price.
Unless you are seriously tracking and doing a lot of DE's, track days with your 997TT most of the coil over kits on the market are over kill for this car.
Since this is a much debated topic it would be great to get some cars together and do a real unbiased comparison of these cars with lowering springs installed.

VID997 was right on with his comments.
As to which is the best spring, many on here have the H&R springs and are happy. I, like you, debated which way to go and looked over almost every thread I could find. In the end I contacted SharkWorks and purchased the Eibach springs. There are/were more expensive but I accepted that as it's what I wanted.
There is a trade off that comes with modding the supsension. IMO...it definitely looks better, which is what I was going for. It rides a little tougher, but I knew it would. It sits lower and I added the aero kit front spoiler. This means, as VID997 stated, I have to be very careful where I drive and which driveways I pull into. Again for me, this was a tradeoff I accept as this is my weekend toy.
If this was my daily driver I would leave it alone, as replacing the front would be costly and provide more frustration than it's worth.
I don't track so I can't tell you if it improved the handling, but again this wasn't my motivation. I love the look, PASM still works and the car ride/handles great IMO. When I visit the dealer I see it parked next to others that aren't setup this way, makes a pretty big difference IMO.
Call some of the vendors on here, I find they are very helpful and have done this more times than you'd think.
