Remember, all else but the exhaust is stock on the car at this point. The AWE Tuning exhaust has unlocked 58 ftlbs of torque to the wheels, equaling ~61ftlbs torque gained at the crank.

Sound wise, it’s revealing a brute tone – with perfect in-cabin sound to boot.

Stay tuned for video and sound clips…

Ok, so a stock GT2RS produce about 605hp "to the wheels"...
I saw a bone stock one producing 612hp on the dyno which measured 660hp on my car recently.
I deduct I can compare my power as a whp power?

Sorry for Hijacking...

No problem K24F,

On our Mustang MD-500-AWD chassis dynamometer, a 2011 GT2 RS produces 593hp to the wheels in stock form.

You should not compare results from one dynamometer to another dynamometer. There are far too many variables in software settings and operator procedure to be able to produce universally standardized results. Only compare results before and after on the same dynamometer.

Also, a GT2 RS is a two wheel drive car. Two wheel drive results are much different than all wheel drive results such as from a 997 Turbo or Turbo S.

The AWE Tuning GT2 RS build has been coming together nicely. The final stage of the build includes G.I.A.C. GT2 RS Software.

Here are the results with the AWE Tuning Exhaust and G.I.A.C. Software on pump gas (93) versus AWE Tuning Exhaust with stock software:

Results to the tune of 8hp/39ft-lb torque gain to the wheels on 93 octane.

Stay tuned, we’re pulling together the results of the software + AWE Tuning headers and wait ‘till you see what happens with race fuel.

Looks like Porsche left very little left to play on the table with this car.

Joe, is there a difference in back pressure when you compare your single can exhaust for the GT2 and the cross flow exhaust you designed for the GT2RS? I'm assuming that the exhaust should be interchangeable as the exhaust is shared between the two cars, and the placement of the exhaust is identical.

If I'm reading this correctly, Stock was 503Ft-lb and 594hp. With your exhaust and G.I.A.C maps, it's now 600Ft-lb and 602hp.
Porsche definitely got some nice HP numbers, but boy did your setup improve the torque and area under the curve!
The mid-range kick has to be awesome!!!!! Well done!!!

Great question! We found that the OE systems are identical on both cars, so fitment is not an issue. With that said, factory power figures between the GT2 RS and GT2 are quite different. The gains on a GT2 with our GT2 RS exhaust should be similar to the gains we saw on the GT2 using our current exhaust offering. Both systems are also straight through designs and use 200 cell cats. The sound would vary, but the back pressure won’t change much.

Thanks for the information Joe. I think there are those who really like the cross flow design, and it appears that it would be a viable option for your GT2 power kit.

As mentioned earlier, the inclusion of G.I.A.C. Software resulted in an 8hp/39ft-lb torque gain to the wheels on 93 octane, when coupled with the AWE Tuning Exhaust.

Then came the addition of AWE Tuning Headers, which proved to double the HP output of the AWE Tuning Exhaust + G.I.A.C. Software.

The AWE Tuning Headers resulted in a 16hp/3ft-lb of torque gain to the wheels on 93 octane. The GT2 RS is obviously one of the finest examples of factory performance out there, so while we’re happy with where we’ve gone so far (and trust us, this driving experience is one to remember), we’re not done yet.

Stay tuned for race fuel results, and some video documentation of it all…

You’ve seen the results with Exhaust, Headers, and G.I.A.C. Software on 93 octane. Gains were made over the power band. What happened next had us grinning.

Here are the gains on race fuel:

A 22hp/45ft-lb of torque gain to the wheels on 100 octane.
Just to put these numbers into perspective, let’s look at these figures compared to stock:

As any Porsche fan would be, we appreciated the stock figures that the GT2 RS put down on our in-house Mustang dyno. Adding the AWE Tuning Exhaust, Headers, and G.I.A.C. Software, and 100 octane fuel, the GT2 RS put down an impressive 47hp/145ft-lb torque gain over stock.

Stay tuned for video of this monster on the street.

Great job AWE!

So the peak power was at 6600rpm? it is look like it has 997tt intake manifold vs 997 gt2 which peak at 7200rpm.

Thanks! The GT2 RS uses an expansion style intake manifold similar to the GT2 and 997.2 Turbo.
