Center Caps/Lugs/Clear Markers

My car needs new centercaps and new lugs (where in the world they found these lugs is beyond me...look like off a model T) as well as some clear side markers.

First, which vendor is the best to work with for these products. I checked Suncoast and I did not see caps and lugs. Perhaps a call.

Second, does anyone with white have pictures of the stock type 1 wheels with the colored crests in the cap? I'm moving away from the amber side marker light, and i wonder if the colored crests would "pop" or just look out of place in my black and white world.

First mod complete, silver crest on the hood!

You didn't look hard enough - usually under "chassis" then "center caps" and "wheel accessories".

SethW,

We have side markers for the 997TT found here:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product//clearsides.html

Center caps:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/categor...entercaps.html

Lug nuts we have the standard set and we can also get them in black:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...7TT_Wheelacces

Also if you are taking the wheels off your car may I suggest a wheel mount guide bolt:

These things are a big help and your back will thank you later. Well worth the 8.95.

Let me know if there is anything else we can help you out with.

Oops, bad searching on my part. I blame lack of sleep and moderate stupidity. Thanks for the help.

I agree with your thought Seth, the silver center caps would suit the white car better. Also do a search for a silver hood crest if any are still available. Eric had some a while back.

Silver hood crest was my first mod! I might get the silver center caps and then hand paint the red and black stripes, sort of a compromise, having some color, but still a silver palate...i will need to experiment on this.

Red nail varnish and a very narrow art brush. Have had similar thoughts!
A further idea is use paper tape to mask, and then a pin to tear the paper tape where you are painting.
Document with pics pls!

Ryan - I followed your instructions for replacing side markers on 2007 TT 997.1 and I am having trouble with the left one not fitting snug. It is so loose that a tap will knock it out. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Seth- How are you enjoying the car? I don't think you provided us with proper photos, unless I missed them. I recall the rear shot (behave) in the garage but your friends need more.......

I had the same issue. I bent out the metal bracket, made sure the top of the metal bracket was bent approx. 100 degrees with the tiny lip bent up about 45 degrees. If you send me your cell number, I will text you a picture of the proper position before install!

Just a note: Be careful removing side markers. Most people try to pull them straight out from the wheel-side edge, and end up bending / breaking the metal clip and possibly damaging the mount slot too. The right way to do it is to slide it towards the rear of the car (by inserting and wiggling a soft plastic spudger on the front side gap) and then it should be easy to slip and lift out.
