Just because the car's speedo showed 200 doesn't mean it was actually going 200. The speedo is optomistic on my 997.1 by a 3mph @ 70.

I would like to see what the actual speed was with a GPS. All car and motorcycle speedo's are not accurate above 70 mph

My fastest run with my (tuned) 997.1TT was 336 at the speedo, the V-box file showed 325.7kph.
I was running a 100-300 and let the right pedal flat a few hundred meters more...

But a stock 997.1TT can't do that because my engine was about 7100rpm.

Good points about inaccurate speedos. I wonder if they are off in a linear fashion or if they are progressively worse with increased speed.

I agree gps is the way to go. Or a radar gun.

Looking forward to setting how they run when they are out.

Have any of the major tuners checked the top speed besides baselining the car on a dyno?

202.38 mph for youbased on vbox number. Interesting that your tt is tuned. Porsche states 196 for your tt stock. Any idea of yours could do that?

My car on low mods just need 2km straight to hit the rev limiter. Even at stock form the car was able to hit the rev limiter quite easy.

^ i like the check engine light. i'd imagine with an ECU tune the rev limiter would be higher and you'd bea ble to achieve 340kmh?

I believe RUF used to certify each car's top speed on the autobahn before shipping to the client. The certified speed was based on the conditions and if it was raining or if was windy or etc., then bad luck!

Correct. My 996GT2 Clubsport was converted to 'Nardo' spec by them, so 630hp on the engine dyno. It hit the rev limiter at indicated 217mph, about 211mph GPS. Their 996 Turbo with the same engine hits 226mph GPS but has a longer 6th gear which I didn't want.

At 200mph it was accelerating at 1.4mph per second according to my VBox.

It already has a ECU tune. The rev limiter remains stock due to tiptronic gearbox. To raise it, you need to tune ECU and TCU. The check engine light is due to the 100cpsi cats. Once that error doesn't mess with car's performance, i had been a bit lazy to take it for a retune.
