I am very interested in the Speed density and would like to know who produces/manufactures them?

I cannot find anything on the net!!

Just pull out your maf and the car will run speed density automatically if that's what you mean.

If you have a 997 turbo, the DME will switch over from maf to map.

Is there a big benefit for doing this?

Good question. In theory, for those pushing through a lot of air, removing the maf will allow for better flow. Just not sure how much better? Some say they can feel benefits with upgraded vtg turbos.

What would you say are the negatives of doing this?

I don't see any real negatives but others might. There are those who feel maf is the most accurate method of calc fuel/load but running off the map sensor is just as smooth on our cars. There are several on this board who are running mafless with vtgs and they seem happy enough not to put the maf back on.

So maybe its a good thing to do when fitting larger aftermarket turbo kits when running serious horsepower, where you really do need all the extra airflow!

Yes, I think that's where you would start seeing noticeable differences.

Yeah and then you get into the situation when map can't keep up.

When people run tial bov's or anyother for that matter, I always hear them say they are running speed density/maf. Is that how they are capable of using bov's because they no longer have mass airflow sensor running the car?

BOVs have nothing to do with the type of tune you're running. It's a mechanical device to releases excess manifold pressure when you let off the gas pedal. For example, let's say you're boosting 1.5bar, then you suddenly close the throttle--the turbo is still spinning and that excess pressure needs to be vented or it will backup into the compressor and cause potential damage. The BOVs release that excess pressure.
