what is your technique of hard launch??. Like what rpm do you launch at?? what gear do you launch in 1st or 2nd? when launch are you catching on rev?? how is the condition of your clutch now??
sorry for the barrage of questions I really dont want to deal with the dealership here in anchorage as they kinda dicked me around today.. I told them my service now came up on my info screen and they took my vin and came back to me at over 1700.00 for a major maintenence ..I looked over their qoute it was for 7.5 hrs labor soo.. Im thinking wtf ..wheres the 1k in parts??..I looked over the maintenence and it was mainly just checking stuff and replacing spark plugs and fluids.. Good thing I got a cert porsche mechanic her in town that use to run the service dept at the dealer, after talking to him for a bit I trust him more thann the dealer..

Instead of answering your question by using my car and my technique, how about you tell me the specs of your car (the type of tires you have as well) and i will tell you how i would launch the car.
i typically dont do "hard" launches because my old turbo is rear wheel drive. The new turbo (997) stays AWD.
your tires are the biggest factor in how hard you'll be able to launch.
FOR ME, a REALLY hard launch (4500+rpm)has less to do with the amount of throttle i give than it does with the speed i release the clutch.
in other words, instead of controlling the amount of power the engine gives me, i am controlling the amount of power i want sent to the wheels via the clutch.
i have an aftermarket clutch on my car, so its up to the job.
i cant see ANY of you having a stock clutch on a tuned 997tt last more than a few hard launches. its just not possible.
launching is something that you WILL have to sacrifice your clutch for. thats the only way to learn your car, your reaction times, etc etc.
there is one solution, that will always yield a quick launch, but it wont EVER be as fast as a natural launch...
... its called 2 step launch control, and most tuners can put it into your car.

steve, my ride is stock right now and on stock 19 rims n tires.. understand tires have alot to do with launch ,like having a sidewall will help alot since more sidewall = more flex and grip .. Im planning on doing some mods but promised myself not until I drove atleast one summer in stock trim..
after reading all the post i've decided its better not to do a launch dumping or slippin the clutch.. 100% i am getting a aftermarket clutch once I start my mods,Im planning on doing the evo s2 or s3..
I appreciate your feedback steve and see your points and they are valid ..
thanks bro

good plan Rising !
theres nothing more fun and involving than modding your car step by step, especially from stock.
but just an FYI, the clutch in your car will probably handle NUMEROUS soft (sub3k) launches all night long.
have fun with it , and remember, if something isnt rubbing, smoking, or breaking , youre not working it hard enough

For me ive been launching the car at about 4500 sometimes even more, i get just very minimal wheel spin but still gets off the line way faster than alot of cars! did it against an LP560 with him using launch control and i was ahead way ahead all the way till 300 then i braked, did it also with a 599 he was far behind was gaining on me after 5th gear but we both had to slow down because we were running out off road infront of us! also did it against a zo6 with slicks and tune and im bone stock off course 0-1kilo also no use. but the worst experience was at the drag strip due to the track bit and the hard launch i had crazy wheel hop felt like if break somethin if i kept doing it so i had to take my foot off did a 1.8 60ft as my best and hardest launch all on stock clutch too. so its way different on the street than the drag strip!
