Thank you in advance for recommendations
Go visit Hans - close by, near the Addison airport.

Thanks everyone for all of the productive feedback. One of my big concerns is clutch slip and it seem I may as well do that at the same time.... I want the best combination of power gain, drivability and overall refinement. Sounds much more simple than it is obviously...

I ended up with Softronic and Sachs 764 clutch with GT2 slave conversion. That seems to be a popular clutch combo and there are plenty of happy customers with a bunch of different tuners.

I would think that it is common knowledge that increasing the power may wear out the factory clutch quicker! LOL. I went with the Sachs 2.5 from AWE in advance and colder plugs to prep from my tune.

Have fun at the mile, I have been and wish I could get back down there. I need to update my profile as I now live in Nashville. I will be in Dallas tomorrow on business though. Thanks and good luck on the airstrip.....

That appears to be a pretty impressive gain for just reprogram, What does the car run this in stock form. In the mid to low 8's I would assume?

Yes, I believe mid to low 8s. I ran the car once on the stock map and did a 8.1, but that's with an exhaust so maybe it made a small difference. 6.3 is with the tune and exhaust.

GIAC also offers switchable programs for pump fuel and race fuel, as well as valet and kill programs.

We're so comfortable with the GIAC software that we back it with our own Champion Motorsport warranty. How many other tuners will stand behind your factory warranty with their software?
This is why I'll go with GIAC or FVD when the time comes. Like he says, warranty really? Back it up. No one can "hide" software on a car unless you burn an ECU up in flames and your car has a replacement. Champion says If you have Porsche digging hard and they find ours then we will cover it. NOT give you the original model that came with it but they will cover your problem

Champion is certainly one of the best dealers you can go through, if not the best. And for those who wish for more power down the road, we offer software for the Champion Billet Turbocharger upgrade.

If anyone has a tiptronic transmission, we also offer 3 levels of transmission software.
