ECU Tuning for 997.1 turbo
ECU Tuning for 997.1 turbo
I bought a 2008 18K GT Silver/Black 6 speed and am looking at APR, AWE, GIAC etc. Any recommendations on tuning? The APR appears to yield nice power gains and programmability for different octane/boost modes.
Thank you in advance for recommendations

if i were in your shoes, i would get a FULLY custom dyno tune in texas. theres absolutely no way you can do better. whats your driving style ? are you gradual with the throttle, or are you abrupt ?
do you plan on tracking the car ? if so, what kind of track ? if its a tight/slow track, youre going to need a different tune than you would for a fast track.
what kind of weather is the car going to be driven in ? (elevation, humidity, type of gas).
I can go on and on.

Thank you for the feedback they both look appealing, will have to chat with each and decide on where to go from here.

We're so comfortable with the GIAC software that we back it with our own Champion Motorsport warranty. How many other tuners will stand behind your factory warranty with their software?
I have a GIAC ECU from AWE (and exhaust). I ended up getting a new clutch about 20,000 miles later (GIAC at 15,000 miles, new clutch at 35,000 miles). I have 43,000 miles on the car now with no other ill issues (28,000 miles with the GIAC).
I like having the ability to change the tune with the portable controller (Pump vs. stock). I drive my car year round and tend to go back to stock during the winter -- I prefer NOT having the increased torque during the winter.
There is a noticeable difference in performance.
Almost every serious tuner has a SAFE flash for the 997TT...Performance may vary and so is torque.Have in mind that in manual cars,APR flash will need a stage 2 clutch asap...slipping is there from the start...revealing its torque...
The softronic tune gave my car enough of a power boost to slip my clutch if i just mash on the gas pedal, so therefore i know the car gained significant gains if i could slip my clutch with only 6k miles on the odo.
